  • I love this place! Best hangout in the city. Visitors don't miss this. From downtown take BUS 901 or 11. Chill Box Yogurt, or 7 Eleven or Lolita's Mexican nearby. Be sure to go to 9th Floor for a fabu...  more »
  • The library is worth a visit, to get an insight into the educational system of the United States. Also it has a nice overview of the port area from your higher floors.

  • We went as a group to visit the library. One floor has lots of genealogical records, books and information for those of us whom love to do family research. Great library. Lousy location.

  • This is a great big library in the City of San Diego. It is a amazing building with a huge catalog of books, cds, movies, and etc. They have computers to use. On the 5th Floor, there is a Workforce Development center to the right passing the aisles of bookshelves. The staff is helpful.
  • Nice library, lots of noise though. Staff is helpful but loud and not always respectful of silence of people's privacy. Not easy to find a computer available, especially at peak hours. IMPORTANT: a Library card is $32 for non-Californians.
  • Awesome building. Great selection and variety of books and other media. Impressive array of modern services from computer access to self checkout. I'd give five stars but I have to step around homeless around the perimeter and on game days they charge EVERYONE $20 to park in the FREE public library underground garage. That last part is just garbage.
  • This library would be a 5 star, but when I was at the front door as they were opening, probably 300 people were waiting to enter, half of them being homeless. Nothing against homeless people, but I saw a couple during my time here arguing with the security guards. Overall though, it has a huge book selection, over 9 floors, and really good wifi with quiet places to get work done. Impressed!
  • The San Diego public library is one of the best landmarks and spots to visit in town beyond the great restaurants and breweries. Its huge dome is easy to spot from around town. The dome is worth visiting for some views of the city and is freely accessible on the top floor of the elevator. Also check out the rare and antique book collection up there which has some really interesting ancient manuscripts and the like. On the ground floor is the children’s room which celebrates the works of San Diego’s own Dr. Seuss. It is certainly a bit of a wonderland with vibrant colors everywhere and it isn’t just the beer making you trippy.
