  • We went for the cannibal exhibit which was decent but cost extra. My cousin had little kids and it was not good for them. Most exhibits require a lot of reading. Lots on evolution and race. Seemed kin...  more »

  • Always a great experience at Balboa Park San Diego Museum of Man. We went to the Living with Animals exhibit. Perfect place for the family. I took my 2 year old and she was entertained the entire time. I took these photos on my visit. Hope you enjoy! I highly recommend you visit!
  • It was my first time at Balboa Park and I happened to stumble upon the San Diego Museum of Man. There are so many exhibits to look at, all very interesting. I stayed in this place for a while. This museum has set the bar pretty high, I'm looking forward to exploring the other museums here.
  • The Museum appears to have been been taken over by the tiny sect of anthropological social justice warriors according to which all societal ills are caused by white colonial oppression. Exhibits have countless references to 'white privilege' etc. The Cannibalism exhibition justifies Aztec and Mayan sacrifices of millions of Meso-Americans as 'religious ceremony', and (wrongly) excuses New Papuan cannibalism and witch hunts (that occur with horrifying regularity today) as an invention of modern sensationalists while bearing heavily on the real and imagined outrages perpetrated by Europeans. This is essentially fake anthropology - or rather, ideology that masquerades as anthropology/ethnography. paid for by the San Diego taxpayer.
  • My wife and I found this to be one of the most intense and enjoyable experiences of our stay in San Diego. In the presentation about "Race" there was a picture that will stick with me for the rest of my life. "I am just a little boy and nobody likes me." It is an amazing museum with plenty of wonderful exhibits that will enlighten and amaze visitors of ALL ages. Steven Gaffney Lincoln City, Oregon
  • I was certainly expecting more... the exhibits are just okay. The place is really small (2 floors + tower). You have to book for the tower’s tour. The building’s architecture is stunning and some details are just beautiful. The staff was always friendly and helpful.
