Where to stay in San Diego

Offering accommodations at a wide range of price levels, San Diego is one of the easiest cities to stay in, regardless of whether you're simply passing through or hanging around for a long vacation. If you don't mind splurging, book your stay at a luxury downtown hotel or a lavish bayside resort. You can also rent a spacious private cottage within walking distance of the city's popular beaches. For a more affordable alternative, try a family-friendly hostel or quaint inn in a quiet residential area.

  • Enjoyed the museum. It had a monster section for kids where kids could play. On the first floor there were huge Mayan stone carvings and the tools they used to do the carvings with. Upstairs or take e...  more »

  • Found this place while exploring balboa park. It was cheap with the student discount. Although it's not a huge place, it took me about 2 hours to get through it. I didn't know what to expect but I enjoyed mostly all the exhibits. Very interesting. Give it a try!
  • If you are interested in human evolution, then this is the perfect place for you. I spent 2 hours here. Person who was telling about the history of census was very good and enthusiastic. This museum gives information about race and how area of living decides the human race, how every one is connected to each other.
  • This museum is very boring. I was expecting a lot more based on the reviews. There really is not much to see. Almost all items are replicas (like most museums in Balboa) and most of the exhibits are old. The line was too long to go into the Egyptian exhibit, so we left. The kids were mildly entertained. Here is a formula for you to chew one: hard to find parking+crowded+hot weather+boring exhibits=?
  • This place is informative and sometimes entertaining. It's always got some cool exhibits, the last time I went there was a monsters exhibit that showcased monsters from around the world.
  • Very interesting museum, honestly one of favorites. The Layout is sensible and easy to manage. Which is something a lot of museums lack.
