The Old Globe is a professional theatre company located in Balboa Park in San Diego, California. It produces about 15 plays and musicals annually in summer and winter seasons. Plays are performed in three separate theatres in the complex, which is collectively called the Simon Edison Centre for the Performing Arts:

Old Globe Theatre – 600-seat flagship theatre, fully enclosed, featuring the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage

Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre – 250-seat intimate theatre in the round (completed 2009)

Lowell Davies Festival Theatre – 605-seat outdoor theatreThe Old Globe Theatre and the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre are part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. The White Theatre is located within the Karen and Donald Cohn Education Center.

I really love a good small theater experience, and the Old Globe didn't disappoint. The 4-person play of Ebenezer Scrooge was well played, indeed, adding in some good belly laughs. Really enjoyed our experience here.

This is a must stop destination for anyone who lives or is visiting San Diego. The quality and production of the shows are on par with New York, and LA. The ticketing and box office services are very easy to use. The location is in the heart of Balboa Park and parking can sometimes be difficult. There’s not a parking lot right next to the theater so expect to do some walking through the beautiful park. The tickets aren’t cheap, but they are worth every penny.

We have seen alot of shows here. Christmas time they have a Christmas theme show. Beautiful pavilion. Alot of photographers take there clients there for pictures.
