Where to stay in San Diego

Offering accommodations at a wide range of price levels, San Diego is one of the easiest cities to stay in, regardless of whether you're simply passing through or hanging around for a long vacation. If you don't mind splurging, book your stay at a luxury downtown hotel or a lavish bayside resort. You can also rent a spacious private cottage within walking distance of the city's popular beaches. For a more affordable alternative, try a family-friendly hostel or quaint inn in a quiet residential area.

  • We enjoyed the exhibition of kanban (antique Japanese signs), quite a spectacular collection. Allow a couple of hours to browse this unique museum.  more »
  • This is a relatively small museum, but still interesting and fun. The Kanban exhibit was very interesting and the folk art was cool. A new exhibit, "Trappings" is coming as of tomorrow. They have a fe...  more »

  • Lovely experience all around. Fabulous exhibit of Eric Gronholm caught our attention and we proceeded to enjoy every other exhibit also. Interesting, eclectic collections in a pleasant space with other beautiful galleries and museums close at hand.
  • My favorite museum in San Diego. The museum's collection includes hand crafted items from around the world. Most of museum space is used for rotating exhibits and so you'll never know what you're going to see. See American crafts such as quilts, furniture, and pottery. Don't miss the amazing Chihuly in the main stairway.
  • This is a lovely museum surrounded by a group of other shops and venues. The whole place is just fun to walk around and this museum always has different kinds of exhibits. Get on the mailing list and you will be drawn down to many shows over the year. Bring a camera and a picnic lunch for your viisit.
  • The gift shop actually had really unique and nice gifts. The museum itself is nice and the exterior is simply gorgeous
  • A great museum for exhibiting folk art, crafts and design. There are lots of museum personnel staffing each section to speak to you about the items on display.
