My wife and I visited this beautiful historic building last weekend. It sits atop Presidio Park and was built in 1925.It was donated to the city of San Diego in 1929 by the wealthy owner. The museum is named after a Spanish Roman Catholic priest who did mission work in the area in the 1700's.He must have done a lot of good deeds because he was later made a Saint by the Pope.Junipero Serra is known as the Apostle of California. What a wonderful history this building has.
The site is interesting and historic with one heck of a view.
The walking tour was nice. It was a bit weird walking on someone's grave. It's always wonderful to learn about different histories.
I like all the historical facts and pictires on,the walls, that they have there, I find it very interesting, and educational, great for anyone who is into historical pictures and artifacts.
