On the 2.7.17 we had opted for a harbor cruise in San Diego. From the trolley, we had vouchers for the Hornblower Cruise Tour from the day before. We have booked the North Coast and South coast on this day. Tour an hour and you can remain on the ship at all times. Between two tours, one is 15 minutes in the port on the ship. During the tour, you have great views of the city and you will pass at the military port.

We took this two hour cruise of the north and south harbor. After several trips visiting the San Diego area, we needed something new to see and do. This was a great idea and trip of the bay. Make sure...  more »

The ship was in good shape and clean. Crew members were courteous and helpful. Great one hour cruise around the San Diego/Coronado bay. Affordable pricing, however look for discounts prior to cruise.

Shockingly racist company. I am still flabbergasted at the experience I've just had and can't quite believe it. I was queuing for the two hour harbour cruise around San Diego Bay at 11am this morning. A Hornblower employee went along the queue, picked out the people with white skin and took them to the front of the queue. This meant that several people who were after me in the queue were sent to the front of the line. I said that this was not fair and the employee said it was because I was part of the "Asian tour". I explained that I was not part of any tour and she scowled and put me back into my correct place in the line. I said perfectly civilly that it had not been fair to put others ahead of me based on the colour of my skin, and she shouted "hey you should be grateful I'm helping you out here". I am a sixty year old woman of Indian ancestry, born and bred in London. I have never experienced such blatant racism.

Did the one-hour harbor cruise to celebrate a birthday. The captain was pleasant and greeted everyone aboard. The ticket attendant wasn't nearly as cheery. The front of the vessel has the best views and gets crowded quickly. Remember to bring a jacket, even on a hot day. No outside drinks or food are permitted. Sunscreen is good to have if you plan to stay on the deck for the whole time. There is an inside sitting area to escape the sun. Depending on time of day, on street parking might be hard to find. Give yourself some buffer time. You can find deals on Groupon, Goldstar, and even on the company's website. The cruise was a great way to experience the city, even if you're a local.

The hour cruise was really informative and the narrator did an excellent job. You learn everything there is to know about the bay. They offer a bunch of other cruise types as well.

Great for your first time coming to San Diego. See both sides of the bay and get a decent tour guide to give you some good information along the way.
