The hard part is choosing the beers because they are all very good.show original
Located in a business park, this is the location where it all happens. This was the best beer selection and the best atmosphere. Worth a visit.

Fantastic! Every Ballast Point beer under the sun is on tap as well as half dozen (or so) of the experimental beers from the Little Italy R&D location. The tour we had of the facility was fascinating and the scope of the operation is unbelievable. The best part of the tour is the hop room... I'd love to throw a hammock in there and just enjoy the zen. We stayed for dinner and a bunch of beers of course. The Blunder IPA (experimental) was great and of course my tried and true Pineapple/Graprefruit Sculpin were consumed en mass. The Grunion Pale is also a new favorite. Definitely worth a stop on your San Diego Brew Tour.
Went there today and had a wonderful conversation with AJ a bartender. He set us up with the tour and just was great for conversation. Very pleasant person and personable. Very knowledgeable in his craft and the craft of the beers. Thank you sir and an asset to the company. Ended up spending over $100 in the gift shop :P from the growlers of the Blunder that turned out to be amazing.
Ballast Point - Miramar Beer Choices: Plenty , ~ 50 taps *** Top 5 Beers (No-Particular Order) *** Generousness in Alcohol, more than what they listed. Naming of Beer is pretty cool here. Sculpin... Can't go wrong Homework series #6 - dark rusty Porter Navigator doppelbock, tastes like monastery brewed Barmy - golden ale with apricot and honey Black Marlin Porter Calm Before the Storm - Coffee Stout Grunion Pale Ale R&D Bird Rock Coffee Scottish Ale Actually this place has the largest selection of Beer menu, Belgium style Sorry.. It's hard to stick with only 5 ***Ambiance*** Indoor, contemporary style with great decor. Outdoor patio to get some fresh air and some outdoor games to play with big fire pit Lot of TVs Bean bag toss game outside lower level. ***Prices*** The prices at Ballast point are reasonable 4oz Tasters or the flights $2/taster / $5 for 3 - Best Deal 8oz range from $5-7 The food can be a bit pricey, but hey they specialize in bee ***Food*** Expensive Lot of food choices, great section. But can be a bit pricey. Appetizer: Truffle fries, Regular fries, and chips and guacamole and salsa. All tasted great Entree: Best is BBQ Chicken Flat bread I liked Pesto Flat bread. Also you could ask them to add chicken on Pesto flat bread, I loved it. I did not like BBQ Pork Sandwich nor the salmon flatbread. Bland Tacos, Next time, I will just stick with Appetizers :( ***Try this*** Corn-Hole/Bean bag toss game outside Sit outside, its much pleasant with Fire Pit ***Highs*** Nice Food menu selection Beautiful decor and atmosphere Ample restrooms, we need it ;) Pretty damn good beer. ***Lows*** Average customer service Parking gets trouble, gets over crowded Really crowded at times means long wait.
Absolutely hands down my favorite brewery. No matter what type of beer you like they have something for you. Insanely helpful and knowledgable staff. I cannot say enough about how awesome this place is.
Cool restaurant and great beers... However, I was bitten by a spider while on their patio (in front of our waiter no less) and had to spend two days in the hospital due to the resulting infection. Normally wouldn't hold that against an establishment, but Ballast Point's management could have cared less. Pretty crummy treatment from a brand I used to love, will not return.
