  • We took the Scenic Highway 38 out of Big Bear Lake. Lovely views of the mountains. Lots of hiking opportunities. There were some restrooms along the way. Whether you have a couple of hours or all day ...  more »
  • We drove here on the way to Las Vegas as we came from San Diego and let me tell you: is as gorgeous as the Sequoia and Yosemite park, although in a different way, no wonder that I kept filming and tak...  more »
  • Both drove and walked in many different areas of the forest while I was up in Lake Arrowhead area for a week. Lovely places everywhere, with autumn color beginning to show.  more »

  • Wendy's cabin was awesome! Beautiful master with fireplace. I didn't give 5 stars only because the backyard was not really ideal for our dogs. Otherwise the neighborhood is quiet and the peekaboo views of the Lake are gorgeous. We love Big Bear and this was close enough and far enough from town. Loved our trip! Thank you Wendy!
  • I've lived in lonely cities I've crossed deserts on camel back And I've filled the halls of folklore with things I'd rather we forget I could sweep you off the street so saying this is goddamn tough But this town might be big enough... See, I reckon what you're saying But this dog's run every course I've roam without my boots on I've raced without my horse And then I ate my horse's meat straight from my horse's bones 'Cause this dog Must roam alone You could shoot me in the mountains In the cold fat rain We could do it in the countryside As we walk the plain It wouldn't give us any closure All cowboys need to trust That this town might be big enough For both of us
  • This used to be my backyard, and boy do I miss it! Hiking here is so close, yet so far away. A personal favorite is the Santa Ana River Trail for both mountain biking and Hiking. Meandering trails over and around the Santa Ana River. Or if you want to change of elevation, hike the San Bernardino Peak Trail or San Gorgonio. Remember to snag a Forest Adventure Pass at the Mill Creek ranger station on the way up Highway 38.
  • Great place to hike and relax. Take in the view and be with nature. Great places to backpack or just take in day hike. They have trails for suit all sorts of levels from easy to very difficult. And if you are into winter hikes wait for it to snow. Amazing views in winter with snow everywhere.
  • It was such a beautiful and easy hike to make. There's free parking so you don't have to pay but if you go on a day that parking is full it only costs $5 for parking and you can get the pass from the general store. Unlike other reviewers I didn't notice any trash along the hike. It was really worth the trip!!!
