One of my favorite things to do is leave Orange County an hour before sunrise so I arrive at the base of the SBNF right as the sun is coming over the mountains. The drive towards Big Bear at that hour is incredible and it feels like a mini vacation in another state, not that I'm 50 min outside of Ontario. Take a weekday off and drive up to avoid the crowds. It's well worth it.

Tranquil Mountain atmosphere. But if you ever thinking about buying a place up here beware Big Bear Lake DWP charges for water whether you use it or not about $100 a month. Since it's a private City on water company they haven't any guidelines directed by the Public Utilities Commission. They have no concern or regard for conservation of water. Is a great place to visit winter fall spring or summer.

I live here! It offers all four seasons to enjoy. I've been to many countries but few of them are as beautiful as Lake Arrowhead. Any direction you turn your head offers a photo opportunity. One of the last bastions of "small town" left in So. Cal.

My favorite of all so cal forests. I grew up here and moved back to Arrowhead after getting my degree, married, and children. Couldn't ask for a better place to raise your kids. The fishing in the lakes is incredible. If you have access to Arrowhead, I've attached a couple pics of bass caught last weekend. Tons of wildlife up here also including bear, fox, rabbit, coyote, mt. lion, deer, squirrels, and more. Lots of great off-roading, mountain biking trails, hikes, etc. The people that live on the mountain are for the most part great people as well. Very lucky to call these mountains my home. Just do us all a favor, take your broken sleds home in the winter and your camping trash in the summer. Thank you.

Really nice place. Very close to SoCal, if you are looking for a day trip or weekend trip.. You can come over here. Try to avoid July, August if you're not a fan of heat and summer time.. Parking might be tough but check the road sides, generally you can park side of the roads.
