  • Our grandkids loved the interactive parts, though the climbing tree and high-wire bike were closed for no reason. We paid full admission and were expecting all activities to be available.
  • Currently, this museum is undergoing major renovation. It was hard to get to and nothing much to see for adults. Place was packed with school kids (field trips). Wait till the dust settles before atte...  more »

  • I did not like this museum personaily I felt they did not have much to offer unless you bought the special pass to the exibit. They are going to be adding on more and hopefully it's not just the same stuff that you can see at the alamo.
  • Don't let the construction right now scare you away. The Witte Museum is a great place for hands on activities for a wide variety of ages. Our latest visit was during the Maya exhibit. I wasn't sure my 2.5 yr old would find anything she would enjoy, but between the exhibit and the interactive play area we both had a great time. There's free parking in a covered garage, so even in the hot months your car is out of the sun.
  • Nearly everything was closed, no one said half the museum would be inaccessible when we were buying our tickets. Not much of a museum. My 3 year old had fun, but for the price we could have gone to the Doseum and actually get what we paid for. Not recommended.
  • Such a unique museum. Takes several buildings in a beautiful setting, right next to brackenridge park and the San Antonio river, to really give you a place to stay and explore for hours. The maya exhibit was wonderful. Admission is high if you add on the current feature exhibit, but if you are local a membership is a bargain, will pay itself off in 2 visits.
  • love the free family on Tuesdays special after 4pm! we tried to go to the childrens museum but they turned us away saying they were full..what is that nonsense!?!? so we went to witte and were nottt disappointed! only regret is I wish that their maya exhibit was included in the free family nite...how else will our kids learn?
