  • The Witte Museum is a great way to do something fun, educational, and different. We went with my 20 month old son, my parents who are in their 60’s, and my husband. We all enjoyed it, even my son! We went on a Thursday early afternoon and almost had the place to ourselves which was so nice. They offer wheelchairs if needed and will bring one to you when you check in. The facility is clean with lots of restrooms and large elevators. My son enjoyed brushing the sand looking for dinosaur bones, looking at all the life-like animal displays, listening to the thunder and watching the lighting in the animal display area, sitting on a saddle and finally playing at the H-E-B veggie playground. We also sat and watched a beautiful short film about cave drawings on a huge screen and surround sound. We were there for two hours and didn’t even see half of the stuff (we did move kind of slow). I love the integration of all the different media types, from video to audio, to huge displays and things to touch. Very cool place. They also have a small snack shop where you can grab some refreshments to recharge and continue on exploring. They have an entire building dedicated to kids with three stories of activities they can do. Though we didn’t really do any of it except visit the toddler veggie play ground in the basement. Great for family fun and taking the grandparents who are visiting from out of town!
  • It has been quite some time since me and my family have visited this wonderful museum. Today was father and daughter time since it is currently Spring Break. We pretty much spent the whole day just enjoying every display and enjoying the walk around the grounds. There is too much going on at the museum to see in one day! If you actually want to enjoy and have good memories, then I highly recommend going there a few times. The children will enjoy the time spent at each activity display because I know I was exhausted from just being there. I realized how some of the older displays are now gone and leaves me wondering if they should have stayed. I remember going on several Field Trips from elementary school and about all the memorable experiences I had back when I was a young child. Now i get to excitingly show my six year old daughter the many beautiful sights i have visited over the years. All of the staff members that I actually interacted with, made our visit very pleasant just by answering our questions. I realize on how and why they put in new displays, just wish they had kept some of them. Well we loved how the whole place was in excellent and very clean shape. Thus making our overall experience a wonderful family time. I highly recommend this museum for a wonderful experience and many pleasant memories waiting to happen.
  • I have been to this museum several times. Each time a portion of the museum has been under construction. The cost of entering the museum is very reasonable. The treehouse in the back corner near the Children's Museum area is awesome. This is a well-kept museum and I would have given it a higher rating if I would have been able to see the whole thing instead of areas of construction each time that I've been.
  • The new exhibits open soon but the transformation is already evident. Love the grounds and the new buildings. What a drastic improvement. A great family museum and when they have activities such as frontier days, to learn about life in the "old days", you appreciate it even more.
  • It was AMAZING. Participated with Calvery Church students, alongside my grandson Seth and to see their faces light up as they experienced dinosaur history...the beginning of civilization and HISTORY. Everything was exquisitely detailed and animals looked real..all the way down to the bugs. I want to revisit and take the rest of my grandchildren. Highly recommend it to all...
