  • Quite an enjoyable experience as we toured the many exhibits. Never having been to a museum where the focus was entirely on the history of the West, I was truly amazed and educated. While there, we we...  read more »

  • Recently went to this Art Museum when we have some family over from DC. Ironically enough, it was a Tuesday night, which are free nights, which is a huge plus for people that don't happen to know this fact. The history is rather impressive and the sculptures are well crafted. The paintings, the feel of the museum as you walk through different aspects of Texan history is well done. They have headphones placed adequately throughout so you can listen in on some parts of the art displayed. It's a good place to visit and it looks like the place was recently renovated. The museum itself is a bit on the small side, but it is worth a visit. Strongly recommend, even from someone like me who isn't much into art history.
  • Fantastic displays of western art. Very knowledgeable and friendly docents. Great place to visit but NO plans email to park a bus. Guess the city of San Antonio doesn't want tours downtown.
  • A very interesting museum. Beautiful sculptures inside and outdoors. Very nice artwork. Worth seeing, especially if you like cowboys and the old west.
  • Worthwhile a visit. Relatively small (2 floors) but stuffed with historical spurs, saddles, artifacts including a Wells Fargo coach, and an interesting assortment of contemporary art. The building must be a curators nightmare. The ceiling, wooden walls, and small rooms encroach on and compete with the exhibit It feels crowded and many areas lack focus and the peace of clear structure. Pick what you like and spend time with it. Don't try to take it all in, it will confuse you.
  • Three story building with a beautiful interior design. $10 each adult. Enjoy the collection of texmex artifacts. This place is a must in San Antonio.
