Palmer Course at La Cantera, San Antonio

4.7
#1 of 11 in Golf in San Antonio
Tee up and keep your drives straight and true on Palmer Course at La Cantera, one of the most challenging courses in this region. Spanning nearly 6,400 m (7,000 yd), this Arnold Palmer-designed course requires even the world's top players to bring their A-game. As you play the course, which has been ranked among the top 50 golf resorts in the country by Conde Nast Traveler, try not to let slices and hook shots detract from the Texas hill country. Finish your round in the well-appointed, terra-cotta-roofed clubhouse. The hilly terrain can provide a rigorous workout if you choose to walk. Consider renting a cart to save your energy for your swing. Put Palmer Course at La Cantera into our San Antonio trip app and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Amazing! Quite possibly thee most scenic and best course in the south Texas region. Rich or poor, every golfer must play this course at least once a year. I'm poor, and I'll tell you that what I paid was worth every dime that I had to work for. P.S. It's not just the course I'm talking about, it's the service as well: from beginning to end everyone shows an interest in you. The ladies are NOT stuck up.
  • La Cantera Golf Club is home to two 18-hole championship golf courses: the Palmer and La Cantera Resort course. The Palmer course, located one mile from the main La Cantera Hill Country Resort, is a well-rated and pleasantly testing layout. This tree-lined parkland course should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. One to include on your play list if you are in the area.
  • The best golf course in San Antonio (although I have not played TPC). Staff are friendly, course condition is immaculate, and the mix of challenges off the tee box and on approach shots is as good as it gets. Blind shots that reward players who know the course well, so listen to the advice of the starter if you're visiting for the first time -- phone GPS maps are very helpful as the cart's GPS is too animated and misses a lot of important elevation changes. Difficult greens that roll well. Just a fantastic experience all around.
  • Customer service was not very hospitable the last time we went. It was not disclosed that they were closing early that day and the person working in the process shop was very rude. Instead of explaining things they just kept coming back asking for us to go after finishing the round. The putting greens and chipping areas were still available but not really. We also purchased the round on Gold now and then when we arrived they had no knowledge of the reservation. So we had to pay again but they would not honor the online price. Something needs to be done about this because it happened to multiple people.
  • I'm my review for Palmer Golf Course would be a really good one they are an excellent course it is enough to keep you entertained and keep you wanting to play it's a very pretty course it is a very clean course and it's a very fun course to walk and see all the different holes and all the different turns in the hills and just the whole way that they have it setup is very unique and very beautiful and the staff there are really polite and they're attentive to your needs and the maintenance crew is as well the maintenance crew I give 5 stars to for the way that they keep the course so clean they keep it immaculate it is beautiful and I would suggest anybody who loves to golf or even loves to just look at golf courses to go out and check it out it's a very beautiful beautiful course
