Where to stay in San Antonio

To be at the heart of San Antonio's buzzing atmosphere and attractions, stay along the city's River Walk. Lined with hotels of all levels, the area is known for excellent dining and nightlife, and is close to all of the city's main sights. While this area tends to be pricier than other neighborhoods, it is the best option for those traveling without a car who want to take full advantage of their vacation time in San Antonio. For a more rustic experience, venture outside of the city limits to stay at one of the old-world guest ranches that dot the beautiful countryside.

  • My wife and I went to watch Beauty and the Beast and had the worst experience at this theatre. The family behind us brought 4 screaming kids with one of them being a baby. After about an hour of disru...  more »

  • Always love the Palladium! While it's always full, the staff is pretty quick and that's added by the "mini bar" downstairs. Grab a beer or margarita and popcorn, hit the theater, awesome. Of course going upstairs to the big bar is fantastic but it's not necessary to get some booze. Theaters are always clean and the multiple stations to get your tickets from an online purchase make it my favorite theater in town.
  • I've always loved The Palladium. It was the first movie theater I went to when I moved to San Antonio and fell in love. I love going to the movies. I think it's an experience to go, or I'd just stay at home and wait for it to come out on rent. The last few times I went I've been less and less impressed. We went into one of the smaller theaters for a movie and there was cockroaches flying around. They were unable to find them when they flew back into the wall but did offer us tickets to go back. I also feel that the theaters haven't been kept clean and updated for a place that was once the number one theater in Texas. I still like the palladium and still go there, but I've been giving some of the newly renovated Regal theaters a chance and like the reclining seats and clean screens. I'm not trying to dissuade anyone down going to Palladium, it's just not the same place it used to be.
  • I love this theater!! They have sooo many parking spaces and other shops and/or restaurants to go to near it if you end up needing to wait for your movie! This place is GIANT! It is done with ancient Roman or Greek decor and is just super stunning when you walk in! It's hard to not be impressed by this place! The food here is also very very good! They actually have little mini restaurants all inside, so you have tons of options to choose from! Trust me on this one, I love food and treats! They have great food! It is on the pricey side, even for a movie theater, but well worth bringing the extra $20 to get something yummy! My biggest issue at movie theaters is the seating! Most have hard seats without any sort of actual back support... I love the seats here! I can actually stand to sit in the seats for an entire movie! That being said, bring a blanket or sweater because it is really cold in every single theater!
  • The palladium never let's me down ... It's so beautiful and amazing... whether it's last minute or planned then experience is always exceptional. .. great place to take guest
  • Very clean and wonderful service but the seats that are for the the least expensive showing times are so hard And uncomforable! When I go again I would rather pay $3 more for more comfortable seats than the $12 ones! Good experience though!
