(4.6/5 based on 30 reviews on the web)
Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium (informally Wolff Stadium) is a stadium in San Antonio, Texas, USA. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the San Antonio Missions minor league baseball team, Double-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. The San Antonio Missions are part of the Texas League, a minor league baseball organization. The UTSA Roadrunners baseball team also plays some home games at the stadium. It was opened on April 18, 1994 (as the San Antonio Municipal Stadium) and has a capacity of 6,200 fixed seats and a grass berm in left field that can seat about 3,000. The Wolff features 14 luxury suites, a 500-person picnic area down the right field line and an all-you-can-eat-and-drink fiesta deck that can be rented for groups of 25-200. The dimensions (from home plate to the outfield wall) are: 310 feet (94.5 m) to left field, 402 feet (122.5 m) to center field, and 340 feet (103.6 m) to right field. The stadium is located about 8 miles (13 km) to the west of Downtown San Antonio.FeaturesViewing the stadium from the outside entrance there are two large brick bell towers, in keeping with a southwestern theme, and echoing an architectural feature of the old Mission Stadium. Most of the seating area is shaded by a large high roof. There are no poles to impede views as seen in some older minor league parks at the Double-A and Single-A level. A concourse wraps around the playing field and enables spectators varied views of the game and stadium.

  • There is a rumour that Nelson Wolff may be taken down soon, and a new stadium built downtown. That would be quite understandable, but also a bit of shame. This is a AA level jewel, not in the best par...  more »
  • This is a great stadium with cheap prices and really no bad seats! If you want shade in the early part of the game, sit on first base side or behind home. Most the seats in the stadium are in the shad...  more »
  • A company picnic with a Missions game, perfect! It was very family friendly, clean and no hassle parking. We enjoyed every minute with the Jalipeno's crew of entertaining characters.

  • A great and child-friendly stadium. Lots of little events in between innings that keep the kids amused. Food is expensive by normal standards, but reasonable by ballpark standards. In-and-out, parking is pretty easy even if it's a popular game. The afternoon games have LOTS of sun along the third base line, so be prepared or sit on the other side. The lower level can get some fast foul balls so only sit there if you're ready to pay attention all the time.
  • A decent stadium with crappy beer (my opinion). It's a Bud/Bud Light/Ziegenback only place. That is a travesty! There are plenty of other domestic beers that could and should be offered. What is even more tragic is the fact that only 1 local craft brew is served here - Freetail. That is the only saving grace for this place. Come on San Antonio Missions - try offering a little more "local fare and flair" to our fair citizenry!
  • Stadium was nice, very family friendly. The wait time to order food was entirely too long. Eat before you go!
  • Always love the intimacy of watching the Missions play. The stadium is large, but feels like a small gathering of friends.
  • Ok nice place had not been here in along time took my son to a game he loves the missions they played good. Maybe next time i would go when they play the Hooks.
