The trail leads you along the San Antonio River Walk through a 13 km (8 mi) stretch of rehabilitated aquatic habitat and woodland to each of the historic Catholic missions founded by Spanish Franciscan priests in the 1700s. Start at Mission Concepción, first dedicated in 1755; it's the oldest stone church in the United States that is fully unrestored yet still intact. From here, you'll move on to Mission San José, the queen of the missions, founded in 1720.   • If you're in San Antonio are you really need a bike and the Mission trail cycling along the San Antonio river. Do not take the ' real ' Mission trail but take the bike path along the river. Nice and easy to cycling bike path. As you can on an active yet relaxed way the Missions visits. Along the path are enough signs to show the way and see where you are. We have had a lot of fun!

  • Did the trail using car to get from mission to mission was easy to find each one Could also do it with a bike rental which is available
