  • The room was clean and comfortable enough. There were no outlets near the bed so it was annoying to charge my phone overnight and also use it as an alarm. Some of the light switches did nothing and the bathroom light flickered pretty badly at first. There was also paint chipping on the door and some baseboards that were looking very loose. Apparently they are getting renovated soon, so hopefully those issues are addressed. Our room, like most of them, faced the pool and you could hear every word of people hanging out there or in the hallway, although it was perfectly quiet overnight. The staff members were not thrilled to be working there, but they were professional enough to get the job done. They cleaned up breakfast 20 minutes before it was supposed to be over, so I missed it entirely when I was running late. The price is better here than most places near the convention center, but it's still a bit high considering the quality and location (you don't want to be walking around this area at night).
  • This is the best hotel in its price range for anyone visiting San Antonio, due to its fantastic location. The hotel room was clean and didn't lack any essential amenities. We had some minor issues with the plumbing, and it sure isn't a luxury hotel, but being able to be so close to downtown for under $150 makes it a no-brainer for me.
  • Staff was surprisingly helpful. I arrived at 6am and the lady at the front desk ran out behind me to let me know that I could check in immediately if I wanted to. Room was clean and breakfast was good.
  • The main positives for the hotel is its location and reasonably priced compared to nearby hotels. It's not located right along the River Walk, but it is an easy 7-10 minute walk away. There is also a market (right across the street) and another small shopping area with a couple food vendors with a couple of minutes' walk. Our room needed some minor repairs and some deep cleaning for the carpet. The free included breakfast had a decent variety of items. The seating for the breakfast can come at a premium between 7:30 and 8:30. (We visited during the summer week days.) The staff were generally pleasant and helpful. Parking was not a problem, but be sure and place your parking pass in your window so not to be towed away.
  • Watch out for the small ants in Room 211. In our room they were all over the place. At first we found them under the bed sheets. After day 1 they were in our luggage. We noticed them in the bath towels and on our clothes. Even when the used towels were removed by staff and replaced with new towels, the new ones still had an abundant amount of ants in them. The floor in the bathroom had hair on it and doesn't look like it was cleaned for a while. My suggestion is if you decide to stay here don't even bring your luggage into the room or you will be taking the ants with you on the way home. Also bring your own towel.
