  • Employees are trained to put safety first for all the racers. Yes! Facility clean and customer friendly.
  • This is not your grandpa's go-cart track. Ultra clean and fresh with really zippy, modern looking cars. At K1 Speed, actual races are held for cars with a 45mph capability. The turns are tight and the...  read more »
  • Don't get me wrong this experience was enjoyable, however, the cost to drive a fast "go cart" for what 10 mins is like 40 bucks?! I feel this is a little much. Then, when you're driving you can't spin...  read more »
  • Badass place people may say it goes slow if you know how to drive them you will have a blast highly recommend it. It worth it. The workers are pretty badass they make the waiting time seem like seconds .if you want to have fun come here
  • As a more or less monthly visitor to the San Antonio K1 Speed I want to add my 2¢ to the other reviews and address some of the complaints I see here. Excuse my long review here, but there’s a lot to cover… Yes it is expensive, especially if you only purchase 1 race at a time. Since I return here I've found that the $100/8 Race discount price brings it into a reasonable range. An advantage of K1's system is that I can purchase races here and use them in any of the K1's nationwide. So far, I've used them on 4 of the 5 tracks in Texas. Sometimes you have to wait for a race position; it all depends upon the alignment of the stars and other such factors. My habit is to call the front desk and if it's less than 1 hour, I go. A 1 hour wait isn't really that long and the experience is well worth it. Once you’re in a race, if you pre-arrange it, they can have you in the next race within ten or twenty minutes. Personally, I ask them to make sure I have at least 3 races between the two or three I run on a single visit, I’m 68 years old and need to catch my breath. Being flagged (for an infraction or breaking the rules) is part of racing. Despite my experience and speeds, I still get warned about drifting, bumping, and letting faster drivers pass. Along with that, the fact that they can control the karts speed is most of the times a safety issue. Their management of the races (at the SA track) does minimize the serious bumping and reckless driving that I’ve experienced at the Houston track. People fail to realize that the physics involved are such that you can get hurt if you and everyone else aren’t driving safely. If there are too many idiots on the track they will slow everyone down, and yes they can control individual cars. In fact I've asked them to slow down the karts that my grandson's friends drove because I knew they were very inexperienced. The results were that they gained experience and confidence and by the third race were capable of handling full speed. Like some others noted, I agree that they don't hit 45 mph, but they can come close. With the old track layout (they reconfigured recently) in order to make a 21 second lap, you had to average 22 mph around the track, and with all the turns that means going a a good clip on the straights. There are individual karts that are not as fast as others, but in comparison to the gas powered karts in the many other venues I’ve been to, these are much more evenly matched. In summation; not everything is perfect or the way we’d like to have it, but overall, the experience is well worth the price and any waiting involved. If you feel that the staff is not up to your standards, consider that they are operating what amounts to a carnival ride that has up to 12 Dale Earnhardts out there at one time, and they are doing their best to keep them from injuring each other. I for one, will be going back again.
  • Very expensive and i hate that theres a lot of time wasted going slow remotely, other than that, the track is fun and having telemetry is awesome. You compete against your mates in time like qualifying. Indoors and electric is a great choice too.
  • Great indoor go-cart racing with a friendly staff. Food and drinks are quite pricey though.
  • Had a great experience here, the staff made it easy. Was a decent track, couldn't get going too fast but still a lot of fun.
