The stadium is located on the site of old Derks Field, Salt Lake City's former minor league ballpark. Smith's Ballpark was built in 1994 with a capacity of 15,411 people, which is the largest seating capacity in the Pacific Coast League.HistoryIn its inaugural season, the Buzz set a PCL attendance record with 713,224 fans. • Smith's Ballpark provides a fantastic, All-American experience for the whole family. I took my two boys (6 and 4) to see a game. I expected them to get restless and leave by 5th inning, seeing as how it was already way past their bedtime. The boys enjoyed the play zone with swings and a play set, rode a train and marveled at the ability to mix flavors of shave ice. Food was expensive as expected, but the layout was intuitive, the facilities were clean and the staff was very friendly. Great experience!
  • I love this place! I've spent many summer nights at this ballpark watching the Salt Lake Bees play (as well as the University of Utah baseball team). The atmosphere is great, and you have all the normal things you would expect from a baseball park: hot dogs, burgers, peanuts, seeds, drinks, etc. The prices for the games are great! The only time I don't like going is when they have fireworks after the games; but, that's only because there are a ton of people that only show up for those games and not the other (i'm kind of a baseball fanatic anyway). And not to be forgotten is the view. This ballpark has one of the greatest views in all of baseball. You see the field, a beautiful row of trees just beyond the outfield fences, and then the Majestic Wasatch mountains to bring up the background. It's just amazing that you get that view AND a great baseball experience.
  • This ballpark Is a must for locals and tourists! Great seats everywhere and the outfield grass is a really fun time with the little ones. Always a good baseball game plus if you can get tickets for games with fireworks, it's the best show Utah!
  • I don't know why it has taken me so long to come here but I was surprised at how pretty this ballpark was. The whole area is surrounded by trees so you kinda forget you're in the middle of Salt Lake City. The view of the Mountains from the seating was also amazing. Picnic areas are all over the park as well as a few activities for younger kids ("train rides", etc). The seats aren't very big but were pretty comfortable and have cup holders in front of you. I thought we were going to be in the sun all evening but I don't think one seat in the house was in the sun once the game started. Bathrooms were decent, but didn't expect much. Atmosphere is fun and definitely a place I'd come back to.
  • Fun family outings to the baseball game. Come watch the Bee's play throughout the summer. Usually the games go from early April to early September, with occasional playoff games late into late September. They do fireworks many weekend games, and the kids can run the bases every Friday and Saturday night. Come on Monday for $20 for four people, but you must buy your tickets a few hours in advance at a Smith's Tix location.
