  • In short: Great zoo, clean, well cared for animals, and amazing staff. Zoos can be very controversial, and with recent documentaries really showing the dark side of animals in captivity it can be hard to want to visit a zoo. But Hogle zoo does an excellent job of almost everything in their zoo. ***Note! To my knowledge, almost all their animals are rescues who can't make it in the wild*** You can see all of the animals, are well taken care of, well nourished with clean enclosures and zoo staff constantly caring for them. The park works with the elephants out in the open and they have a session where they show you how they train and care of the elephants. The bird show is amazing and is probably the best part of the zoo. I've been a couple times to the African safari part with the lions and such, if you want to see them awake, go in the morning or stay until it cools down, they are not active in the heat of they day. Overall, its a great place, my only complaint is everything such as food and gifts is expensive. But plan it out and go to all their events (most are free) to make the most of your visit.
  • I visit the Hogle Zoo on a regular basis. I enjoy the walk and the exercise I get from wandering the zoo. I find it to be an educational place to take my grandchildren. There's nothing better than a visual and Hands-On education for children. I love all the tactile exhibits that accompany the habitats for animals. They enable my grandchildren to have a a well-rounded experience. And I can always depend on their food to be healthy and kid friendly. The Hogle Zoo is a great place for your family to build long-lasting memories.
  • So much to see! We had such a great time. We went most recently on a day that was just about perfect temperature-wise and most of the animals were quite active! We are lunch at the spot down by the bears (I forget the name) and that was quite tasty. It's usually hard to get my son to eat when we're out at places like that but he loved it! We rode the train too. The train is fun but sort of short.
  • We LOVED the bird show! I was pleasantly surprised for way smaller zoo to be so adorable. We haven't tried the food yet, but the show alone earns this zoo 5 stars for me. We had passes to the San Diego Zoo and this one is obviously way way smaller, but.. It's still a fun way to be outside and enjoy quality family time. They also have 2 playgrounds my kids really enjoy.
  • Good fun, both adults and kids. I spent 2 hours here. We had fun seeing the animals of all kinds. Giraffe, gorillas, monkeys, birds, otters, seals, lions, leopards, snakes. Then we had lunch, you can bring your own drinks and food or they offer some good food to purchase. Souvenir? Yeah they have quit a few souvenir shops and gift shops to choose from. Good prices also! 3 and under are free
