  • I went with a few family names and was personally helped and taught how to find other family names, dates, photos and even stories. It was thrilling to find my family!!
  • I visited the Salt Lake Family History Center for the first time in Sept-Oct, 2016 and I can't praise the volunteers enough! They are knowledgeable, gave me hints on how to maximize my results , were ...  more »
  • The place is free, the staff is friendly, and they have an amazing collection of genealogical records. Here, the only limit to how much you can find is yourself.

  • I recently visited this site as a first timer. I had a wonderful experience. I was initially assigned a helper and he got me acquainted with the library. Next, I needed assistance on some German ancestors and I was assigned a person who spoke German. Both were very helpful. I left with several ideas to help continue my research when I got home.
  • Very helpful staff with a lot of useful information. I wished I lived closer so I could use when I want. Probably the one place with the most complete information in the world.
  • While I am not Mormon, and their main goal is to convert those that aren't members and to baptize the dead that they find... This is an amazing family history library with knowledgeable staff. They can truly be helpful in finding your ancestors.
  • If the microfilms you need are already there then you are in good shape. But they are INCREDIBLY unreliable when you try to order films from the Vault. There have been so many times were I made a special trip to the library because they claimed my film arrived only to learn that it hadn't. Most of the employees are incompetent and the customer service is terrible.
  • Amazing place to do family history! The staff was very friendly and they had a ton of resources!
