Family History Library houses the largest collection of genealogical records in the world. The library attracts visitors from around the globe hoping to find their ancestors and piece together their family history. Millions of records in the form of microfilm, microfiche, books, and periodicals provide you with the resources to find your roots. When you enter the library, you can watch a short orientation film to help you figure out how to start your search. A staff member or volunteer will then lead you to one of their five floors, depending on what you are seeking. The staff can answer any questions you may have and help you trace your ancestry. • Three years ago I telephoned the Family History Center in Salt Lake City asking for assistance in researching my grandfather, a famous amateur athlete in Montreal, Canada. The young lady who fielded my call was not only polite but extremely knowledgeable. Thanks to her research skills I was able to unearth extensive sports articles that eventually led to my grandfather's admittance into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.
  • Fun place for a family to go explore for the day. On the main floor they have a really fun interactive way to get to know more about your family. If you have time during your day a really recommend visiting.
  • This is the first place I have been able to locate accurate information about my great-grandmother. Expect to spend a few hours here!
  • A fun stop on a tour of temple square. Learn about where you are from, how you are related to others and get help finding ancestors.
  • I had amazing discoveries about my family and ancestors here! Very welcoming environment and it's free!!
