  • Not many trails in ol' Salisbury, but at least we've got gorgeous Pemberton. Ample parking. Bathrooms with actual soap and water. Picnicking/fishing/dog walking/hiking/trail running are common. Festivals. Annual free Shakespeare (thank you, Brown Box!). Halloween and Easter activities. Animals a-plenty. We saw a box turtle laying eggs when we last came for a leisurely walk! Wild kingdom, right here. ;-)
  • First visit with my dog since visiting the US, we went on a Monday afternoon around 3pm it was very quiet. Absolutely beautiful wonderful place to take a breath outside of the hussle and bussle of life.
  • Great way to spend an afternoon. Open from sunrise to sunset with no admission fees for just walking around, although special events may require admission. Plenty of nature trails, dog and horse friendly, places to kayak, birdwatch, fish, etc. Very popular among photographers, both portrait and nature. Clean if older indoor bathrooms. Grills and picnic tables, plenty of open space. You absolutely can't go wrong. I took the Bell Island Trail and the Wetlands Trail on my most recent visit, sauntered for about two hours. It probably gets pretty buggy in the warm weather so be sure to protect yourself. Also, while you don't need hiking boots, the trails can be a little treacherous with roots and mud so wear somewhat appropriate shoes.
  • Amazing park to walk through. Between the landscape, wildlife, and historical buildings this place will appeal to many different interest.
  • Great place for the family. Picnics, nature trails.
