There are a number of accommodations within walking distance of downtown, enabling you to make the most of Salem’s nightlife and dining options. Those who want a room rich with character should look to the outskirts of the city. There you can find a number of charming bed and breakfasts, several of which are in restored century-old homes. • This area of Salem is so beautiful. We saw it a few times on the trolley tour. We decided to take a long, scenic walk one day and enjoyed the beautiful sites of the park! It's a must stop in Salem.  more »
  • It's off the beaten path from mainstream Salem, but I still walked it without any trouble. Not a huge place, but big enough to get some time alone with the shoreline, which you should definitely trave...  more »
  • We drove up here for a view of the water and it did not disappoint. We parked in 1 hour parking so did not have to pay any parking fee. You can walk all the way up to the lighthouse which is cool. The...  more »

  • Being a Salem resident this place has always been a mini refuge from urbanism. On the water, camping, which we do once a year there and pretend we are tourist. A small swimming sand beach. Lots of history. A nice walk to Salem willows for ice cream, fried clams and popcorn. A good destination.
  • winter island is so peaceful and beautiful!it's our happy place and we spend every 4th of July here. We are getting married here too! Very excited to see how gorgeous the gazebo looks today for a nice couples wedding, we already crashed it once lol going back again. We just love it here and spend as much time as we can here. We always meet people and our angels show up to visit in the most amazing ways.
  • Always a good time when I go to Winter island with my family. The place is clean and well-organized and well-cared-for it's a beautiful place to spend a sunny afternoon
  • Great view. Quiet. Not your usual campground if your not in the field. But a great trade off for the view. Nice staff. You can catch the frilly into town to avoid trying to park but it's a little pricey and the last trolley back is at 4.
  • We spent 3 days there and LOVED it! The location is excellent, just a few minutes from Salem and a 30 minute train ride to downtown Boston. The staff is fantastic, we enjoyed our stay there so much we cancelled our appointments to a KOA on the outskirts of Boston for the latter part of our trip. We drive a 39 foot class A with a tow vehicle and had no problems maneuvering through the park. We will definitely go back!!!
