  • I love this place! The beach is small and the water is chilly, but it is a stunning view. It is a very serene place. I walked down to the lighthouse, which was easy....awesome!
  • This is about one mile out of downtown Salem. A short causeway leads you to the island which is ideal for recreation. There is a large RV park which takes from huge Winnebagos to small tents. You can ...  read more »
  • Then this is the place for you! Lighthouses, sea glass, funny little seagulls and boats, this place is just phenomenal! Let your kids run around like little maniacs while you and your lover make some ...  read more »
  • The location was great, bathrooms clean, safe place for families, and pretty little beach to watch the sunrise. But this island has a bully raccoon who literally unzipped our tent like he owned the place. I had to tie a shoestring around the zippers at which point he showed up one more time and shook the zippers angrily back and forth like we were the cruel ones. Oh and there were red ants on site 36, do not camp at that site.
  • If you are seeking a place that is close to Boston and minutes away from the commuter rail into the city, then this is 5 stars. However, if you are seeking a memorable camping experience then this is one star. There are electric and water hookups, but beyond that it is a large dusty parking lot where the spaces are marked by chock lines in the dirt. The bathroom was clean but sorely in need of maintenance. Fire pits are not provided because campfires on the ground are not permitted. Based upon your intentions this could be one star or five stars, therefore I gave it a three star rating.
  • Great place to visit. Camped out here on the water front. Very cool cooking at night on a camping stove under the stars at this place. Cool history and the light house is nice at night.
  • Just got back from spending 3 nights at Winter Island Park. We had a wonderful time tent camping there! Beautiful park, friendly staff, clean bathrooms and showers. Make sure to book early to get a good site. I recommend calling and speaking with some one about which sites are best if interested in tent camping. The beach is lovely! Very close to down town Salem, Peabody, Danvers. There is a trolley you can take in to town. Lots to do in the area. FYI, this is not a traditional campground, it is a public park. Not all of the campsites are surrounded by trees, so not all of the tent sites are private. However, it is very safe there, no body will bother your belongings while you're out touring. Check out Salem Willows Park while you're there. Totally worth it!
  • Beautiful location with a very pretty hidden beach. Quiet time doesn't seem to be enforced though so lots of loud music at night and kids honking bike horns at 5.30am
