  • The Salem Maritime NHS is located along the waterfront and chronicles the life of a major seaport from 200 years ago. Walk out to the lighthouse on the end of a long pier. Great view of the bay area f...  more »
  • Even though the ship, Friendship, is having hull repairs, is not in port, it is the place to start your touring of Salem's waterfront. The tour of the Customs House is great and easy to access. Rememb...  more »

  • I took my mom and brother to the FREE public tour. Very informative and actually pretty fun. FYI There's not a lot of places to sit on the tour. Wear comfortable shoes.
  • This is a very well maintained historical park on Salem harbor including a long walk down to the end of Derby wharf. It's an amazing site because there are so many things here. It's where The Friendship docks which has seasonal guided tours, there are interactive learning sites for kids the whole walk down to the lighthouse, the orientation center is great, and the park rangers give free guided tours.
  • Such rich history to explore at this quaint seaside landmark (so much more than just witch hunts). Check in to the visitor center for free guided tours and educational films. Stroll the 9 acre grounds, visit historic buildings and ships, and take in the scenery.
  • If you're going to check out one spot in salem, then I recommend this place. It's a Great location to take pictures, especially with friends and family. Unfortunately, all the parking was taken in the area, I had to pay a meter and park 8 blocks away. Finding parking in Salem during the day is very difficult. I had better luck at night when it's a ghost town and there's not a car or person to be seen.
  • Well worth a day's visit with beautiful views and a lot of well-preserved homes. Nice balance to the witch theme.
