Cristom Vineyards, Salem

(4.5/5 based on 25 reviews on the web)
Founded in 1992 by Paul and Eileen Gerrie in the heart of the Willamette Valley, Cristom Vineyards has a well-earned reputation for making exceptional Pinot Noir. Whole clusters, native yeast fermentation and minimal handling throughout the winemaking process are hallmarks at Cristom. Today, the collaboration between winemaker Steve Doerner, vineyard manager Mark Feltz and the second generation of the Gerrie family continues to illustrate the unique blend of tradition, modernity and finesse that defines Cristom Vineyards’ wines.

  • Lots of high quality Eola Hills pinot to try, most of it grown right on property. Knowledgeable tasting room staff. We got to talking about wine, and talking, and - a very pleasant visit! Interesting ...  more »
  • The wines of Cristom are superbly crafted with extra care, which shows up in the bouquet, mouth feel, and finish. Their Viognier is one of the finest that I have tasted.
  • We had a lovely time at our tasting. We learned a lot about the area's wines and the different philosophies of wine making. Christom's practice of controlling all facets of the process turns out very ...  more »

  • Very friendly staff, lovely wine selection and quality!
  • The Mt Jefferson Cuvée is my favorite, but they have many fine wines. Don't miss on you tour.
  • The tour is really nice. Wines too.
  • Had a beautiful view! And a great, modern-looking tasting room with good wines.
  • Our visit far exceeded expectations. We had visited another winery in the area and enjoyed the visit. Christom, however, was heads above for atmosphere, hosting, and most importantly wine taste and quality. Sipping some fantastic pinot noir while sitting out side soaking in the sun and enjoying an expansive view of the Willamette Valley could not have been better. The sales pitch was low key, but effective, and the tasting fee was waived with the purchase of a bottle of wine. We look forward to a return visit.
