We went to the Como Zoo with our Son and his family. It had been maybe 40 years since we were there last. The zoo has gone through a transformation that is wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our day wit...  more »

We have visited this zoo several times and we just love the butterfly exhibit! The kids smile in delight as the butterflies land on them. I read other reviews stating how the zoo was in horrible condi...  more »

I have to be honest...I think ALL zoos will pale in comparison to the St. Louis Zoo now. This one is "free" ($3.00 suggested donation for adults, which I gave) but STL was FREE and awesome. It's done....  more »

A crowned jewel of the Twin Cities. It's by no means a perfect zoo, but as a non-profit that relies on the generous donations of its visitors it is pretty impressive. Also, their conservatory is a delight to walk through and the Japanese garden a tranquil place to sit, rest, and contemplate the wonders of the garden. I've been going to this zoo since I was a little boy, and over those forty years it has changed and grown so much. I'm really proud to have this zoo in our city. My only wish would be for a much greater selection of HEALTHY food choices — presently a majority of the food available are pretty low-health, high fat and calorie choices. It'd be nice to see Como Zoo step up its game in the food department, offering less fried and fatty foods and more healthy and sustainable alternatives.

We arrived on a day that consisted of 15 to 20 busloads of children on field trips. The crowds were enormous and made it difficult to maneuver our stroller. We ended up leaving earlier than we wanted to. The exhibits were very good and entertaining but, because of all the screaming children it made it difficult to enjoy. We WILL RETURN to this zoo but maybe call ahead to check the schedule.

We had a great time at Como Park. Started with a picnic, then a ride on the Merry-go-round. We then walked through the park followed by catching the Sparky show, which we all agreed was the best we had ever seen. We ended the day going through the gorilla exhibit. We had a great day.

Fantastic zoo and park for a day trip. Admission is free, but they do ask for donations. We like to spend our time there on rainy/cloudy days because there's plenty of indoor areas and the animals are more active on cooler days. All in all, it's one of my favorite places to visit in the Twin Cities.
