  • It was lovely inside and out, a beautiful historic building on the Bayou Teche. The grounds are well-maintained, and its proximity to the Evangeline Oak and the Acadian Memorial make it a must-see.

  • St. Martin de Tours is the "mother church" of the Acadians. A church has stood on this location since the 18th c., and this church was built in the 1830s. St. Martin de Tours is older than the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. It is free to walk into this church and take a tour.
