Tower Grove Park was first authorized by a state law passed on March 9, 1867, and came into existence on October 20, 1868, when Henry Shaw conveyed his lands to the City of St. Louis, by deed of gift. Tower Grove Park is 289 acres. It is the second largest park in St. Louis, but the only urban park in the Midwest that is a national historic landmark. To visit Tower Grove Park on your trip to Saint Louis, use our Saint Louis holiday planner.

This is one of the few Victorian Strolling parks left in the country. This park is very large with several original gazebos. Beautiful landscaping.

A great place to relax and enjoy your leisure time or do something more up tempo. There is a private tennis club in the park you can go to if you have a membership, but there are also several paved that go both along the inside and perimeter. Food Truck Friday is a blast and a must for anyone interested in a fun and unique dining experience.
Love this park. Very well kept and clean. Safe Park never seen anything sketchy or weird going on here. Always seems like something cool is going on. Check it out on the weekends for a good time.
Tower Grove Park is wonderful. It's a large park in the middle of South city well-known for it's athletic fields, weekend kickball leagues, gorgeous running trails, bird sanctuary, and architectural pavilions perfect for family reunions and large picnics. The park also features Food Truck Fridays during the summer, and the tower Grove farmers market on Saturday mornings for much if the year. If you're a St. Louis tourist, I'd say prioritize Forest Park on your list. But if you're a local -or a prospective local-living near Tower Grove is an incredible perk.
One of the best parks in the area. A great place for cookouts (with pavillions available, reservations required), dog walks, running or just relaxing. During the summer there are concerts. The "ruins" area with the lake is home to ducks and geese that love to be fed bread. There is a bird sanctuary area and other rustic spots to take a break from city living.
This is probably the best park in the City of St. Louis park system. It is always clean and well cared for and there is always some feature you find that you didn't even know was there. If you want to avoid the crowds at Forest Park make sure to check out Tower Grove.
