The MAGIC HOUSE, Saint Louis
Categories: Children’s Museums, Museums
In a 5,100 sq m (55,000 sq f) space, The MAGIC HOUSE features exhibits, resources, and activities for children to experiment with, create, and develop problem-solving skills. Look for some of these favorite exhibits: an electrically charged ball that creates static electricity, a large pin screen that holds the shape of your body, a giant kaleidoscope, and an art studio. Older children get to solve mysteries by analyzing fingerprints, crawling through ductwork, and opening secret doors. Kids have the opportunity to stay overnight with one parent, an experience that includes an evening snack and breakfast plus extra time to enjoy more than 100 exhibits. This was an amazing place to bring my kids! I have a 12, 9 and 4 year old, all 3 of them loved it! The art area is so neat! Every new area we went to we were thrilled!
My 2 and 4 year old boys had fun, alot of hands on activities. Only issue was that part of it opened at 10:30 not 9:30 then full area opened at 12:00.
Wonderful and fun for kids. Very neat! Although I think adults shouldn't be charged to get in when they can't do anything except watch the kids play.
The Magic House is where kids dreams come true and allows them to explore and learn every step of the way. Literally, there is numbers on the stairs...You can start at the top and work your way down or you can start at the bottom and work your way up. Which ever you decide your children and yourself included will feel as if you have not a care in the world. Every third friday is free, I would strongly recommend that you pack the family up and surprise the kids with this awesome one of a kind place. ***warning kids my cry upon leaving from fun sensory overload.lol
The Magic House has improved greatly since I was last there 2 years ago. The area for 2-6 is completely redone and fantastic. Definitely recommend. A bit expensive however at $10 per person over the age of 1.
We spent about three hours on a Friday evening and we still could not explore all that this place had to offer. My 4 year old niece and nephew had so much fun and there were several opportunities for valuable learning moments. It was well worth ten dollars per person. The staff was extremely kind, helpful and simply dynamic in every way. I particularly appreciated the front desk associate Amy Cirio. Amy was through in her delivery of all that the Magic House had to offer and her knowledge of the facility she works for is excellent. She was ready with well informed answers for every question I presented her with.
Went to the Magic House with my grandkids, ages 5 and 9. They both had a great time. Tons and tons of stuff for them both do to. Plus I had a great time as well. All the staff members were very friendly and helpful. What a great gem to find in St. Louis! We'll definitely be going back again.
A lot have changed since I was little. Other than that I was pleasantly surprised with all the neat addition that was added to the Magic House i.e. real life world section where children can learn about how banking works, Post Office, etc. My niece who was visiting for the 2nd time from San Diego still loves going there and play in the grocery store as a checker.
