  • How can you go to St.Louis and not go to Ted Drewes? I am an ice cream/ custard NUT! This place has been around for many years and is a landmark. Located on old route 66. In the summer when it's hot t...  more »
  • Even at 530 on warm Saturday the lines are long, but they move fast. They are very efficient at what they do. The custard is good, so go try it!  more »
  • An STL staple. If you're visiting, GO! If you're a native but you've never been, GO! Ted Drewes has been apart of my hometown glory since I was a little girl walking from Spring & Itaska with nothing ...  more »

  • We stopped here briefly after having already having lunch at Fitz's, so we didn't have room for more than a taste. We split a small butterscotch shake. I was impressed not only with how quickly the line moved (nearly instantaneously), but also how quickly our food was served. Seriously, we got our shake in a quarter of the time it took to get my last blizzard from Dairy Queen. This was our first time having frozen custard. It is creamer than ice cream. We liked it and look forward to becoming regulars when we move here next year.
  • Holy tourist trap. SO. MANY. PEOPLE. Lines move super fast and the custard is top notch. Definitely recommend that you stop and feed yourself (and family) whatever they want. It's all good. The regular is large, and the mini is just right. Enjoy.
  • A St. Louis institution, actually the South Grand location is technically the institution, but I grew up and now live blocks from Chippewa and it's been there as long as I can remember - so, close enough to an institution, The Dutchman Delight sundae is nearly the perfect desert. If you're passing through, or just find yourself in the area, you must stop in at Ted Drewes, even if it's just a small cone or mini concrete for a quick afternoon treat.
  • Ted Drewes is a St Louis staple, and the locals know it. There will be 200 people in line on a weekend night for custard, but the lines move very quickly. Parking can be a nightmare. There's an off duty cop watching over the parking lot every night. The neighborhoods nearby can be a little Sketchy. It's worth it. The custard is excellent. The cashier will sometimes flip your custard over to show you that it's so thick it won't fall out. Don't repeat this test, or you'll have a bad time. It only works once.
  • Awesome as usual! Very quick service. Don't let the lines deter you. Best frozen custard in town. Way better than regular ice cream.
