  • This casino was a little nicer than other area casinos we visited. Right on the Mississippi and in the downtown area. It was clean and not smokey at all. We visited after the ball game on a Friday nig...  read more »
  • Smoking allowed, disappointed there wasn't a non- smoking section. A variety of games. Few bonuses, but good payouts on some spins. A few places to eat, alittle pricey.
  • The Casino is fun, lots of play activities with security being helpful and watchful My only issue is that this all smoking and the nonsmoking section is small and not ventilated as it part of the smok...  read more »
  • It's a great place to visit and play at. They have an awesome buffet there as well. The staff, from the housekeeping to management, are and have always been friendly. Security is friendly, and always highly visible. But I'm not sure why the casino gave security long sleeve shirts to wear in the dead of summer. The rooms were nice and professionally cleaned. The service was great. Playing the slots is the rough part. It is hard as hell to win or play for a while. A few years ago you could play for a while with what you walked in with, and maybe walk out ahead. But the slots now are very tight as it is hard to win or break even.
  • The place itself is pretty nice, probably the nicest casino in that area. The clientele is weird. I'm not kidding, a percentage of the people who were in the place were acting very strangely... arguing with themselves or each other, moving from one machine to the next very quickly, walking in front of you like you got into their way. It's hard to describe, but it was a slightly uncomfortable environment solely due to those people. This was on a Sunday evening, so maybe a different night would be better.
  • Don't know about hotel but the casino was ok. Don't like the some of the rules about not being able to double on anything. Only 9,10,11. Split only once is not a favorite either. Lotta tables were closed so the limited few open had a little line. Nothing close to Vegas but I guess it's better than a flight of your bored.
  • TIGHTEST SLOTS IN THE COUNTRY!!! I have NEVER won @ this casino. It doesnt matter what denomination, what slots, if it is progressive or 1 to 5-line, keno, poker, reel slots... NEVER EVER have i won here. Save your $$ for Casino Queen across the river where you actually win. Not only are the slots super tight, but the promos and free slot play here are a joke!!!!! $5? What am i going to do with a measly $5? Play a penny on one line 50x and not win still? This is the only casino that offers zilch as far as your birthday goes which i think is kinda pitiful. Ive emailed them regarding this last year and never received a reply. Have never once received any email promos either. HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO WIN HERE?!?! PLEASE TELL ME HOW? Thats how you get people to come back. Its customer service 101. Provide and they will come. Ive also left a review regarding taking pictures (to send out of town friends n family showing them how nice the hotel is if they chose to stay there) for my birthday THIS year where a security guard shooo'd me away as if i was doing something illegal or damaging to the property. Bad business. And why do ONLY new and inactive members have the option to bring in competitor offers and receieve up to $400 slot play but not the people emptying their pockets into your bank? Thats a joke. I never leave horrible reviews because i work in customer service and people have off-days all the time including myself but this place is a rip-off/scam all around. A response this time might prove to me that your management team actually cares about guests and players alike. Otherwise forget my money and recommendations.
  • First thing everyone should know... The Hotel here is currently conducting a multi-million dollar overhaul, so the reviews about the rooms being outdated will soon be invalidated. Presently, I do notice certain truths about the amenities, but that's only if you are really "picky"! Again, the overhaul will definitely curb any and all shortcomings, I'm sure! For me, the layout is great, and the location itself is "key"! This place is located in a wonderful downtown St. Louis area which makes the views (my room shows the ARCH) really nice and you can literally walk to great nearby establishments/attractions with ease. The hotel is connected to the casino via a skywalk and the casino is very nice. Again, "picky" people might not like things like the smoking...(for example)... I'm even a non-smoker...but if you take into account the open floor plan and how the facility is arranged, then you shouldn't have any issues. At times it may be under-staffed or perhaps over-staffed, but a person's review of this place shouldn't hinge on only one simple interaction, because, simply put, all places have their "here and there" moments, but "all-in-all" everyone here does a good job, they're polite (enough.. if not more so), and I've won here! I've seen several people around me win here too. So, this place is great (in my book)! You can earn points for free rooms and/or free slot play. Earn points for "some" cash back or get more value out of your points for dining/shopping/hotel instead of cashing the points out. The food I have ordered at OZZIES has been spectacular everytime. This place has even hosted a WSOP Circuit Event. They had a live band playing the other night that sounded great. They have this shop here that serves something like an alcoholic ICEE! It's unique and, even tho I'm sorry I don't have their name, it's FANTASTIC! Tons of different flavors and they're amazing. Yes, I could see how (at times) things could get bad here. Perhaps a busted lamp shade, a burnt out light bulb (LMAO-Whoop-EE), locals smoking "other things" in their rooms (big deal), or what-not, but all places potentially have such grievances. I note the fact that security is located all around and do an outstanding job. Like tonight, when I looked out my window, I noticed security accessing/reporting a situation where a car was vandalized (probably burglarized) from an object which was used to smash the driver's side window. Now, that doesn't mean that you should believe people are just hanging around to assault/rob you here, and you shouldn't think to blame the hotel either (like some people would have touted). This, in fact, was NOT inside of "hotel parking" (mind you), and I see this as security going the extra mile to dissuade any and all potential negative elements from occurring near this area! In summary, if you are only looking for a hotel for like one night because you are going to a Cardinals Game (only) and you aren't here to gamble or experience all other establishments/attraction in this area, then stick to places that are "just" hotels (at least until the "new" Lumiere Hotel is constructed that is) in order to get what you pay for. BUT, if you are interested in a fun, lively, interesting, downtown adjacent, and convenient Hotel/Casino Combo, then The Lumiere Hotel and Casino in St. Louis is a great place to check out!!!.. (and looks to get even better after a "some" 12 million dollar upgrade)...!!!
