We always enjoy the market no matter the time of year. Good deals on fresh produce. Huge selection and unusual offerings like pork skins to live turkeys. You never know what you will find.
By sharing Soulard Market is worth the visit. Wide range of foods available plus as an added attraction you can get bloody Mary's to walk with as you shop. Take you time and enjoy.
Lots and lots of good looking veggies and fruit, baked goods, fresh eggs - or take a chicken home with you to produce your own:)
Love, love, love Soulard's Market!!! Fresh produce, beautiful flowers, sensational spices, clean butcher shop, local merchandise, and much more. Dog friendly. :-)
Great prices on produce. Especially good if you like canning. You can get cases of fruit for $5 or $6 that is fine if you can it within a day or two. Also, check out the tamale guy.
We frequently go there for our regular vegetable purchase. We find a number of options for purchasing with low prices compared to grocery stores. You may have to first walk-through all stalls to find good quality item and price and then start purchasing items.
I went a bit too early on a weekday, so there weren't a lot of vendors. The people I did visit were very friendly and helpful. Nice neighborhood with other local shops and historic architecture. Walkable from the arch if you have good shoes and weather.
Very fun laid back casual atmosphere, variety of fresh produce, prepared foods, Beverages, and various goods accommodates lots of people, indoor/outdoor market setting.
