Shopping Mall Historic Site
Admire the architecture, do some shopping, and relax over a tasty meal at Drury Inn St. Louis At Union Station, once the largest and busiest train station in the world. In the first half of the 20th century, the station served close to 100,000 passengers a day, but with the advance of air travel, it quickly fell into decline. Its transformation into a hotel and a shopping mall is a great example of successful urban redevelopment. While browsing the shops that offer everything from sports equipment to jewelry, you can enjoy the station's perfectly maintained Romanesque architecture. The station is well-connected with the rest of the city by public transportation, and parking is plentiful. • We just went inside to see the lobby of Union Station, which was beautiful. They appear to be renovating the part that was a shopping mall and we didn't go in there. If you enjoy architecture, this is...  more »

  • I liked this place much better than other reviewers here recently. We ate dinner at the Hard Rock one night and then wandered through the old train station, the hotel, and grounds. It's a beautiful pl...  more »

  • Check-in was fast and courteous. My room had all-new everything. Everything was clean and stylish. TV, AC, heat, fridge and microwave all worked as they should. Every lamp had two electric outlets, to charge our many “devices”. The bathroom had a granite counter and granite floor tile. The shower had ceramic tiles, not the typical plastic enclosure. There was no tub. That space was occupied by the over-sized shower stall. The stall was extra wide with a bench to sit on. There were sliding glass shower doors made of thick, heavy, sturdy glass. I was surprised at the high quality of the entire bathroom. The hotel lobby preserves the architecture of the original YMCA, including an antique electric call board and terrazzo floors. There are rail-road themed pictures and artifacts. The lobby furniture is all new and stylish. Your room key card also opens the parking garage, next door. The parking spaces are generously sized, so your precious GTI won’t get dinged.
  • Rooms were a bit small. Stayed there one night while my daughter attended her prom. Best advice is to NEVER use their hotel for an event booking. The chicken they served was only half done and the drinks were watered down. She was very disappointed. I know it was only a high school event but they deserved the same respect as if it was an adult function. So sad.
  • If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the cheapest rates around... We're staying here for a fun weekend with the kids. The hotel is really full, spring break I think, but the staff has still taken great care of us. The free drinks at happy hour, dinner buffet , and breakfast buffet, all for free has been completely wonderful. Everything has been A+. Rooms are clean, pool was nice, and all food was great. We will definitely stay here again!!
  • Very reasonable rates for the location. Close to downtown and the zoo etc. We saved a lot of money with their free breakfast AND free happy hour (both food and cocktails)!! We would def stay here again.
  • I met my family there in the morning, so I can't really say what being there overnight was like. I can say that I thought the breakfast there was pretty good as well as the service. It was easy to check out, and from what I understand, my family was very pleased with their visit.
