  • They have 3 courses we played 2 and it was fun. It's a cash only place and kids need to be 5 to play. The score card says "after a hole is played do not replay or practice" I heard them say they shut ...  read more »
  • I've been coming to Cool Crest since I was a kid, and I don't even live in St. Joseph. My aunt and uncle and cousins do. They took me to Cool Crest 40 years ago when I was growing up, and I go there n...  read more »
  • This is a very special place for most older locals & stays very busy daily with families & younger people. The mechanical items you hit a ball through are really top quality & nostalgic. All the cours...  read more »
  • If I could give no stars, I would. I am so done going here. We have gone here for many years (despite the horrible reviews). We went again yesterday with friends. Of our group, 4 golfed as only 4 are allowed on a hole at a time. We spent a total of $85 here for 2 rounds of golf, 2 hot dogs and drinks for four people. This is outrageous!!! In addition to that, when one of the boy's balls went off the course (accidentally and not hard, it just rolled off), staff were immediately there lecturing the kids about "playing by #2". After I asked several times what she meant, she referred to the back of the score card. She was seriously lecturing them on the order in which they played. We were (gasp) playing where whomever had the ball the furthest out went next. I did not know it was a REQUIREMENT, per them, to make sure that the person with the ball closest to the hole went next. What is REALLY irritating however, is she started to talking to the kids in the group first. She kept telling them this was the second time someone had talked to them that day. (It certainly wasn't - no one had approached us to scold us yet for the day.) When I asked her about that, she changed her story to this being the first warning and second warning we were out of there. She then proceeded to say she was going to "teach us how to play by 2" referring to the scorecard rule again. She just kept standing there and lecturing and watching. We were followed around and watched like hawks for the rest of the round. It was a really enjoyable experience (yes, that is sarcasm). Additionally, when we paid, the man at the counter did not give one of the boys the $2 change he was owed. When we then asked about it, he simply said "sorry, I don't work in here much." I have defended this facility to many friends that refuse to go there due to the bad reviews. I had believed that maybe those that were "scolded" had done something worse. However, after our experience yesterday, I agree with everyone else that has posted a negative post here. If they hate having people on the putt putt course so much, why don't they just close it??
  • It is a great place to go on a date. There always seems to be a lot of couples and kids here.
  • Uncomfortable, only because the owners and staff are over bearing and followed our group of five adults around like school children. It can be fun if they leave you alone.
  • My family's experience was terrible. We got our money back and left. Kids under 5 can't play, our child was 4 and a half, then as we started, the manager came and took the putter from him. If that wasn't enough, we had a group of 5, she then came and said we had to separate down to 4 people. That was it for us. Please don't waste your money here. It is NOT a family place.
  • As a granddaughter of Guy and Jan, the original owners, it saddens me to see the lowers reviews during the past couple seasons. I completely understand the low reviews since the course has been under the management of my Aunt Janene Saxton. Not being able to bring your entire family is not acceptable. Cool Crest, as I have heard from countless people, is no longer a friendly and inviting place to visit. I would encourage you to please still visit and tell my Aunt your feelings on how it can be improved and please tell my Grandmother, who still tries to get out to see the customers, how much you miss how the golf course used to be run. Thank you.
