  • We reserved sites 216 and 218. They were great! We set both 30 foot 5th wheel campers up on site 216 because it was a hair bigger. Backed one in and put one parallel with the road. We parked and playe...  more »
  • We camped in the lower campground. Nice spacious site, nice view of the bridge, close to the ferry to Mackinaw Island. Very clean bathroom and warm showers. Be aware the lower campground can get muddy...  more »
  • We enjoy camping at the St Ignace Straits state park. It is very clean. Has both shaded and sunny lots. The park has lots of trees with a great view of the Mackinaw Bridge. It has some pull through wh...  more »

  • Came up for memorial day for the first time. Awesome trails and several beautiful views of our bridge. Reasonable firewood prices as well. Will return
  • Took the boys up for the annual classic car show. This was a great experience. We did have some neighbors who stayed up a little late on Friday night, but we had a blast. Campground is well-kempt (why doesn't Google recognize the word "kempt"?) and clean. Men's facilities are really nifty - good water pressure, four sinks, a couple of urinals, and two toilets (can't speak for the women's room as they kept telling me I couldn't go in). About half a dozen showers as well if you're into that sort of thing during a camping excursion. There was a very friendly lady selling bundled firewood at a fair price ($3/bundle for soft, $4/hard). Fortunately, I sneaked a bunch up from downstate so I didn't have to buy any. That's not really true. She had a couple of fellas on hand to walk it right over to my car. They were also very personable. One looked like Nick Fury. Each site, as to be expected, has a picnic table and a fire pit. Both were in great shape at our site. The park itself is a very short jaunt from the expressway. I believe the lower campsites are right near the water, but we weren't close enough to see it. Hey, we live in Northern Michigan - we can go a couple hours here and there without being on or in water now and then if we must! Great experience - check it out!
  • Not a bad park, but with all the rain they have had lately there where at least a dozen sites that were unusable mud and water. Our site was all mud and had a small creek running through it, you would have thought they would have contacted us to tell us it was not useable before we drove 350 miles to get here, I'm not sure what the others did that couldn't use theirs because they would get suck in the mud! Then they charged us extra for the last 50 amp site they had in stead of letting us have it at the same price also they said no refunds really?? What ever there are better State park's than this one.
  • Love all the great views of the Mackinac Bridge. Always a very clean park . Been here several times. This is one of my favorite state parks.
  • Very nice state park. Campground was excellent. Was an excellent base to do day trips to the Soo Locks, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinac Island.
