  • I ended up staying here 3 first two nights were in the Fannie Williams room in the main house my last night was in The oleander room Everyone who works there is awesome!!! I have never experienced such hospitality Ms Hester, Connie and Tonya rock!! The place is definitely haunted but it is very positive energy there is nothing evil that I encountered. If you're looking to take a step back in time and be treated like royalty I highly recommend the Myrtles.
  • We took a historic tour of the plantation with an amazing tour guide who provided tons of information of the background of the plantation. It seemed like the tour guide lived through everything that happened, the way she provided the information so convincingly. Out of all the plantations I've visited, this one was the most beautiful on the inside. The pictures don't do it justice, it is truly a beautiful place.
  • Oh my goodness the best staff ever. Everyone was so nice, so helpful and made you feel at home. The breakfast was awesome (loved the grits) and the all around feel was one of peace. Not a creepy place, just gorgeous.
  • Haunted tour at 6pm and dinner after. It was fun and interesting to hear about the stories of supposed ghost sightings. I am now interested in staying overnight just because. I'm not 100% sure if I believe in the stories of ghosts sightings there, but I love the historic beauty of places like this. The grounds are well kept and the staff was pleasant. I do want to make a comment about people desiring to hold weddings there...there was a small one being held there last night. They were stuck in the back of the restaurant for dinner. While the historic value of this plantation is beautiful, it does not appear to be somewhere I would choose for a wedding. It's not even offered on their website, and from another commenter below, it seems it's not worth the trouble to try to use that as a venue. Our state has many other beautiful plantations that cater to this type of event. You can't expect the wedding of your dreams if the staff isn't prepared to give you that.
  • Had a wonderful time with my wife celebrating our birthdays. Everyone of the staff including those at the restaurant were very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay terrific. The food in the Carriage House Restaurant was excellent by the way. While we knew of the "hauntings" many guests experience, we did NOT expect to have one ourselves. Boy were we wrong! It scared my wife so much that she could not sleep all night long. We don't blame it on the bed, it was very comfortable. She got what she was hoping for and then more. We will be making this an annual adventure!
