  • We stayed here with our kids and grandkids for two nights, in the cabins. We took the log cabin on the water and one of the smaller ones. Log cabin is small, but efficient. The other cabin was good fo...  read more »
  • Great local (near the Detroit metro area)campground, fairly clean bathhouse, lots of people coming and going. Not as great as most other state parks we've been to but still nice.
  • This was our first time visiting this park. All grass sites, huge, many pull-throughs. The campground has two sections: north- has playground equipment and some views of the water; south- has paved si...  read more »
  • Great campground. We camped there twice this year. The beach is nice and the store is fun to stop in with the kids. The day use area down the road is large. The beach is nice but you have to walk pretty far and cross a walking bridge over the road.
  • We have been camping here for years. Love that it is clean, close access to the Lake Huron. We usually are literally steps away from the beach. DNR have always been pleasant and helpful. Absolutely our favorite spot Michigan to camp.
  • It's a great beach with a Great Lakes/"up North" feel only an hour away from Detroit. A nice alternative to smaller local Lakes in Oakland/Macomb counties, such as Island lake and Stoney Creek. It's a 1 hr 15 min drive from Royal Oak, 1 hr 5 min from Ren Center. The feel is that of being on Lake MI or similar, with breeze and waves. Clean beaches. Water is somewhat colder than in the small inland lakes.
  • Very nice park from what I have seen if it. Sometimes can get a bit busy on a hot sure day, but still a fun place to hang out.
  • Good family friendly park. A lot of rv's but not so many that you feel awkward with a tent. Tends to get quiet really early in the evening. If you're up past midnight you're a rarity. Close proximity to the beach is nice too. Very clean and well maintained bathroom and shower facilities.
