The casino was close to our hotel so we stopped in one night to eat and enjoy a little gambling. The location is beautiful along the driver, though you don't get to enjoy that while gambling. The hote... read more »

Great place for a large group celebration! The buffet was fantastic and the service was wonderful. We have been back many times!
Spa gets a 5 star .....wow is all we can say!! We stay at the Ameristar b/c we love the pool and good food and no kids in the pool after certain hours. Its a fun vacation away from home. But for our anniversary we tried out the Spa & we both FELL IN LOVE. Both girls and guys have a locker room & each side has Steam room, Sauna, hot tub, showers that water comes from the sides and the the middle of the shower. Basically a shower with water coming at you from all over. Very cool! The Cold wash rags the the oil was so delightful also. Felt sooooo good. You just have to try it. Kathy/Kathleen (I think) was the lady that did my massage. I loved her. She has an amazing talent and I will be going back to her. The Spa area just made our experience so much better. Its the only resort in St Louis that I go to and that has a time for adults only in the huge pool/hot tub area. My husband had Sam aka Samatha... he said he really enjoyed his massage also. We will be back :) PLUS last night just because they knew it was our anniversary they brought us chocolate covered strawberries and Champaign. That was so sweet and really put a smile our faces. These guys have a client for life. You Rock and its totally my little gem that not a lot go people know about. Want to get away... come here! Valet your parking... its free and only a tip to the guy taking it. Tons of restaurants YUMMY bakery omg.....good Casino Spa Pool inside and out Hot tub inside and out (after 8pm no kids!!) (as of 9/2016) So the only thing I've needed was maybe a microwave in my room for left overs and when in the spa area. I wish I had walkie-talkies so I could talk to my husband ... since we didn't take our phones with us to escape life. But then I found my self wanting to communicate with him form time to time. But really its such a wonderful plan to stay and we love it...
Overall experience was very "meh." Slot machines were tight, not a great selection of video gaming other than slots or multi-game moneygrabbers. Went to the sports bar and asked for an Urban Chestnut Zwickel. I hadn't had this one for a while but I knew it was a lager. Thinking about it now, what the bartender served us was most definitely NOT the Zwickel (he served us some crappy overly hoppy IPA). I should have asked about it but didn't and simply suffered through it. The buffet wait was somewhere around 45 minutes. Food was meh. Staff was friendly enough. The resort could use a few shops. Probably wouldn't return, but eh, do they really need my business? Probably not.
My family occasionally gets rooms through my father's elite membership, we always appreciate the free nights. Although, as the years have gone by, I've become a tad bit disappointed in how things work. The pool used to be open to everyone from 9am until 10pm with adult swim until midnight, but an issue must have happened for them to change their hours to be 9am until 8pm for everyone with adult swim until 10pm. I know that's not a huge deal for everyone, but we always bring my younger siblings and few of their friends and the pool is always the best part, because half of the pool is indoors and the other half outdoors accompanied by indoor and outdoor hot tubs, plus it is open year round. We were slightly upset with the change in hours, but it's still a great hotel. The beds are comfortable with great bedding, the TV's are large with many options to choose from, the bathrooms are wonderful, staff is always friendly and willing to do anything to ensure you have a nice stay, and the location is great with Historic Main Street being so close by.
I went here to see a dr. Z. Show aswell as hit the casino floor. The club was clean and crowded but they had plenty of staff on board to handle the crowd. The bathrooms and casino floor finishes seem to be a little dated. The staff on the floor and tables was friendly and welcoming. I didn't stay over night so I can't speak to the hotel. Very pleasant experience.
Worst casino in st.charles and in st.louis, food is not very good. Not only that slots are terrible, believe me when I tell you save your money if you wanna play slots hang in their and have fun go to argosy casino in Alton. They have way looser slots and a chance to start with 100$ and play for a couple hours and drink a few beers. Ameristar wants your bank account. The slots at this place are horrible and "free slot play are worse" I would give you 0 stars if I could. Hope this helps the next couple just trying to get out of the house for a few hours and many hit a bonus worth while. Fyi I hit a bonus 1 time going 2.50$ a roll on the gold dynamite machine and hit 12$ after putting 100$ plus in. Very unsatisfied and I will never return.
