Sacramento Zoo, Sacramento

3.8
#2 of 13 in Outdoors in Sacramento
Visit the wildlife oasis and see and interact with animals from the four corners of the world at Sacramento Zoo. From red pandas to penguins, the modest-sized zoo is home to a variety of animals, all living in spacious habitats. The zoo layout caters to its youngest visitors, allowing kids to go easily from one habitat to the other and ensuring children in strollers have a good view of the animals. For a small fee you can take part in giraffe feeding, which takes place twice a day and is one of the zoo's main attractions. If you get tired of walking you can hop on a train, or take a break by having a snack or visiting the gift shop. • The Sacramento Zoo is a great place to bring your kids. It is a small zoo, but you can tell that they are consistently making an effort to make improvements to the Zoo. Their renovations in the giraffe exhibit are great. There are still a number of areas that need attention but over all the zoo is clean and most of the animals seem to be in good shape. I recommend that you come on a Wednesday to take advantage of Wells Fargo Wednesday’s. Kids can visit free with a paid adult ticket. Parking is Free! Check it out this Spring.
  • Being from San Diego and experiencing the World Famous San Diego Zoo kind of ruins all other zoo experiences. Aside from this, the exhibits at this zoo are decent, but a bit small for the larger cats. They did have a cool train, carousel and play area for kids. Entrance was $24 for 1 child and 1 adult. Was a pretty good experience for the price of admission.
  • Sacramento Zoo is one of the best little zoos you'll ever experience! We have so many great memories here. The zoo has lots of holiday activities and special events as well. Also, the zoo is located walking distance to a huge park and other Sacramento family attractions. If you visit often I strongly suggest you buy a yearly pass, they are very affordable.
  • Our zoo is a great place to spend the morning or afternoon with the family. With a wide varietyof animals and great environments, there is plenty to see for hours. They also have a good selection of food and drink (including beer) if you get hungry or thirsty and the reptile house is a great place to cool off. There is always nice places to sit and a little playground for the kids to take a break from the animals.
  • Were zoo members so its totally free all year round as many times as you want . Its 20.00 for one adult an 1 child so we got our moneys worth . Parking is free but get here early on weekend for obvious reasons. I would suggest eat before you come its a nice little walk to work off what you just ate. An yes you can bring your own food & drinks inside bring sunglasses or a hat .
