  • Sad, but historic. I have visited several times. The tranquility has made me realize that we will leave one day and the acceptance of that fact is crucial  more »
  • Sacramento friend took me in Japanese. You can see the gravestones of many Asians. Is the place clean is very clean, very comfortable. I would exit at the end of life, anyone thinking about your own funeral or grave. Carve what characters in stone, felt that the opportunity to look back at my life and as such buried where... come to this cemetery.

  • This historic cemetery, the oldest in Sacramento (with land donated by John Sutter), reminded me of traditional English gardens, with their beds of plants and flowers in harmonious blend, and especially the amount and variety of beautiful roses that are at every step. A self-guided visit can be made to view from simple tombstones to monuments and mausoleums with names of founders and personalities of the West in an atmosphere of great power that surprises.

  • Beautifully and uniquely landscaped. The history and mystery in this awesomely preserved and well loved cemetery have great allure. The first grave I looked at was a Welch, ... eerie.. hmmm? It raised curiosity in me.
  • Great place lots of fun stuff. Get there early though because people are just dying to get in.If you cant get in come see me ill gladly help you get.
  • This is the most amazing cemetery I have ever visited. Gorgeous grounds, all cared for by volunteers, and filled with wonderful NorCal history. A must-go if you are a cemetery hopper!
  • Beautiful historic cemetery, especially in the spring when all the roses are blooming. There are several note worthy graves on the grounds, it's also a fun place to look for baby names. Lots of cool old timey names.
  • This is a very special place for me and my husband. It is so calm and peaceful, I can walk the rows and paths for hours. We try to get there at least once a year, especially in October, we were gifted with a rain storm this last visit, it was beautiful.

Units downtown provide easy access to the majority of the city's attractions and nightlife but tend to be more expensive.
