  • It is a playground, next to the Sacramento Zoo. Location, children of heaven like space attractions like Wonderland book reproduced intact sheep and rabbits, and commune.

  • We stayed overnight at a school sponsored camping trip. The play structures are creative, and they've now added a newer section just north of the stage. Good for a few hours during the day.  more »
  • Looking online, I expected a somewhat cheesy attraction, and I wasn't sure how many of the fairytales my 4-year-old would relate to. It didn't matter: The grounds were expansive, enchanting, whimsical...  more »

  • On Sunday, we went to the fairytale town for a birthday party. It was in the garden area. The kids had so much fun watering the plant. Another fun activity they did was color the paper and paste outside their pot plant. And they grew some type of pea ( the young girl helping was unsure what type of pea exactly it was). Anyways, the kids had tons of fun and they had a chance to explore the fairytale. If you read fairytale stories then you'll be visit this place. We ordered chicken tenders from the food court and it was horrible. Take your own food.
  • Fun slides, things the climb on, some animals and imagination play. Kids can run around freely. Great for toddler and older. Lots of shady spots to sit. Great for family fun. Entry is very reasonable price. We have the yearly membership and come here often.
  • A wonderful place to take the children for a day of fun. It's a mini theme park with animals, vendors selling flavored ice chips, popcorn, hamburgers, etc., and face painting. There is a concession stand that serves ice cream and other delights. It's also a very nice place for photos: Visit the Koi pond, the ship, sleeping beauty's castle and a Japanese garden complete with a bridge. I was surprised. I went for the opportunity to photograph International Day of Dance
  • We came here with a 8, 7 & 5 year old on a Monday afternoon. We were pleased with how few people there were here! There are whimsical drinking fountains, a variety of farm animals, convenient restrooms, and fairy tale themed play spaces. The whole place was clean and well kept. The kids especially enjoyed the crooked mile, the play structure, and the teepees. 2 1/2 hours was more than enough time. I would not recommend fairy tale town for children much older than ours. It is geared towards younger children.
  • My kids love this place. I love it too, as we can let our 3 year old safely indulge his need to explore. The upkeep over the years has been wonderful and most of the park looks very good for the age of the place. The admission price is also very reasonable and I really like that you can't gain entry without a child with you. Clean, comfortable and the kiddos always have a blast. Highly recommended.

Where to stay in Sacramento

Sacramento boasts a number of hotels, motels, and bed and breakfasts that vary in price and character. Units downtown provide easy access to the majority of the city's attractions and nightlife but tend to be more expensive.
