  • This is pure sometime fun. It's a large park so lots of room for picnics and gatherings but more important it's where the American and Sacramento Rivers meet, so on the one side is the fast flowing mu...  more »
  • Rather nice Park not built in a good way. Playing near a river, resting in the shade of a tree. In addition, courses that you can explore, could walk comfortably.

  • We went there for a music festival and was pretty disappointed in venue. I went for a walk by the river and a fish hook pierced my sandal. Also there were some sketchy characters there. I would never ...  more »

  • Very large, spacious, beautiful park right on the confluence of the American and Sacramento rivers. Picturesque landscapes, bridges, over passes, rivers, and plenty of space to be alone when photographing. The parking is pay for a day, but I typically walk or bike there. There are restrooms, boat ramps, rivers, beaches (swimming is allowed, just wait for the river to warm up), bbqs, picnic tables, larger areas for large groups including larger concrete tables great for multiple uses with power. The bike trail also runs right through here. Plenty of Parking for trucks with boat trailers, rvs, etc. I highly recommend exploring off the beaten paths, there are great views of the green bridge, river, skyline, a smaller river, and the fall colours are gorgeous. Is normally very clean, respectful patrons and friendly rangers at the entrances.
  • Aftershock is held here... and that is awesome. From what I have seen the two times i have been there is that they have a wicked fast cleanup crew, ample porta potties, excellent stages and the area is pretty. Only downside is nothing is cheap once you are in. Not sure what it is like outside of aftershock though.
  • Park was full lines long false advertising for haunted houses we had a group of 7 season pass holders and will never go back to fright fest. Smoke free park every time you turned around people were taking a hit not cool for kid friendly environment.... God job security. NOT
  • I never been to Discovery Park before Aftershock. But it seems spacious and in a decent area. It seems like that when there isn't a big event going on it would be a great place to have family events such as reunions and parties.
  • Lots of parking and the boat launch is nice. Docks on both sides to tie up your boat while you park your truck and trailer.

Where to stay in Sacramento

Sacramento boasts a number of hotels, motels, and bed and breakfasts that vary in price and character. Units downtown provide easy access to the majority of the city's attractions and nightlife but tend to be more expensive. If you are flying in or out of the city, consider one of the hotels near Sacramento International Airport for convenience. Vacation rentals are ideal if you are planning a longer stay in the city, with many located in quieter residential neighborhoods.
