Where to stay in Sacramento

Sacramento boasts a number of hotels, motels, and bed and breakfasts that vary in price and character. Units downtown provide easy access to the majority of the city's attractions and nightlife but tend to be more expensive. If you are flying in or out of the city, consider one of the hotels near Sacramento International Airport for convenience. Vacation rentals are ideal if you are planning a longer stay in the city, with many located in quieter residential neighborhoods.

  • Visited from the UK and stayed in a hotel right near the park. The quickest route for me to walk into the city was along the banks of the river which I believe form part of the park. There are a lot o...  more »
  • Be aware that Discovery Park is under water. We tried to get close but the road and parking lot can't be reached. If you are planning to go there before the end of February, I would call ahead.  more »
  • We were just there for the Aftershock rock festival so this review is centered around the park as a place to see a show. First off, the place is huge. There were (according to some) about 45,000 peopl...  more »

  • I'm coming from the perspective of someone who lives nearby the Marin Headlands, so my bar is high when it comes to nature outings. I was in Sacramento for a 2 day business trip and went out of my way to visit this park between meetings, for a few hours. The water looks dirty and the sounds of the nearby highway make it difficult to enjoy the sounds of nature and solitude. If I lived nearby in Sacramento and couldn't afford to leave town for something nicer, however, this would do. The paved pathway is clean, the green walking bridge is beautiful, and it's a nice break from the concrete city jungle.
  • Great place for swimming, volleyball, football or any outdoor activities as well as family get together reunions or birthday parties weddings and much more boat launch and beach by the river excellent view and safe for the kids I sometimes go to the concerts they have there it's just beautiful. Check out the water come swim with us here at Discovery Park you will love it to.
  • Whenever we are in the Sacramento area we make it a point to try and stop by here. Obviously flood waters can't be helped, but those waters will recede. We love the environment here. Very family friendly. Lots of options to utilize like BBQs pavilions, great bike paths, and we love the river!
  • Tje archery field is in aeriois need of upkeep the grass is knee high and higher in some spots my family and i lost several arrows due to this. On top of tje maintenance issues we had homeless bugging is for our food and beverages and threatening us for saying no. I would not recommend this facility until the county does something about these issues
  • Still some damage from the flood. No running water. Plenty of space though.
