  • We were just there for the Aftershock rock festival so this review is centered around the park as a place to see a show. First off, the place is huge. There were (according to some) about 45,000 peopl...  more »
  • If what you are looking for is a day warm and relaxed this is place right. When we have the opportunity to take our boat and a walk and there got to eat some of the restaurants that are in the River, the view is wonderful and there is a sand that looks like a small beach where the younger members of the family can play and swim.

  • I have enjoyed two group barbeques in Discovery Park. It is a great area to work out in,play games,or ride a bike. I see it as a viable short cut when necesary.

  • There are trails for running or biking There is also an archery range and access to a marina. Parking may be paid for on-site or you may purchase an annual pass good for one year that may be used at multiple Area Parks. The downside is that there is a population of homeless who inhabit the area as a campground. I do not feel comfortable going here by myself.
  • One of the prettiest archery ranges I've been on. But they are not clear if crossbows are allowed. I've seen Facebook posts of people sighting their crossbows there, as well as other posting and evidence that it's ok. But the park itself is quiet on the subject. Can anyone tell me if crossbows are allowed at the Discovery Park archery range if you bring your own crossbow rated target??? Anyone??? Thanks in advance!
  • I came here for the Aftershock Festival and enjoyed only a small area of the park. Beautiful views and nice neighborhood surrounding the park.
  • When I think of Discovery Park, I picture heavy metal concerts, boat engines rumbling, and feral cats. The place has a unique atmosphere. It is the downstream terminus of the American River Bikeway, 31 miles from the other end at Beals Point, Folsom Lake. Here, the Sacramento River and the American River flow together as one.
  • Here on a Sunday afternoon for some archery. There are some people here shooting their arrows, notcrowded. There are beals of hay for target. It's nice, quiet with a light breeze. My baby is loving the weather.
