Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards, Roseburg

4.4
#3 of 8 in Wineries in Roseburg
In 2001, Stephen and Gloria Reustle, along with their two children, moved from the east coast to Oregon to establish their family-owned winery. Stephen, who owned a successful marketing company before becoming a self-taught wine maker, knew the value of providing “world-class” product to a loyal customer base. Winemaking began in 2004 using only fruit grown from the estate's Prayer Rock Vineyards. And yes, there really is a “Prayer Rock” at the vineyard -- at the top of the south-facing slope is a large rock that was the meeting place for Stephen and his son in the mornings to pray to God for blessing over their vineyard. Not only did this family practice establish the name of the vineyard, but it has kept the Reustle's very busy. Since then, they have bottled approximately 6,000 cases of wine annually, selling out every year.

  • It's in a fantastic setting. And the tastings (which are accompanied by appetizer pairings) are in a "cave". Someone else here mentioned Disneyland, and thats what first came to mind based on it all b...  more »

  • The place is beautiful, the wine is good but their wine club is terrible. DO NOT sign up for it. They charge you well before pick up but you still have to wait for pick up to get it. They were completely unhelpful when I had questions about my pick up lunch, which I never got btw! I've talked with others about wine club at this vineyard and they have all had similarly BAD experience with it. Stick to just being a guest. The club is not worth the discount! I won't even go here again once my YEAR long membership is over. Yes I said a year not just one pick up like every other winery, I'm forced into 4 pick ups before I can quit. So that's 3 more times they will treat me poorly before I can stop going there!
  • Beautiful vineyard. Amazing wine. Friendly and gracious people.
  • This place is worth the drive. The grounds are incredible and the wine is astonishing. Anyone can find something to enjoy at this winery/vineyard. The staff is also great!
  • We love this vineyard. Fantastic views. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Good wine.
  • Reustle offers the best wine tasting experience I've been to. Their wines are wonderful. I joined the wine club 2 years ago and have enjoyed their great Oregon wines in Tennessee ever since.
