  • Lots to do for free (donation). Kids (9 and 11) loved the outdoor area with turtles, lizards, and other small animals. For a small fee, you can visit the Reptile museum - The boys absolutely loved...  more »
  • Suffice to say that the Chiricahua Desert Museum is not to be missed, a world class establishment for anyone with an interest in history, archeology, herpetology, or nature. The museum includes a...  more »
  • If you like reptiles, make this a destination. If you don’t like reptiles, make this a destination. The gift shop here is practically a museum in it’s own right. There is a ton of stuff to look at...  more »

  • A great resource on local herpetofauna, flora, and arthropods, with a nice living collection, a surprisingly active garden, and a gift shop that includes rare books and artwork, as well as a great selection of reference guides, gear, and local crafts. This place is great for kids and seasoned scientists, alike. We were there during a scorpion conference and were able to check out the research posters. Overall a surprisingly well executed local museum and research station, with a lot more going on than initially meets the eye.
  • This is a very interesting museum and is well worth the entrance fee. A must see if you are in the area and the number of live rattlesnakes and other species makes it a rare exhibit as you won’t find these species assembled anywhere else in the world. The owners have poured out their lives in a labor of love in the two museum buildings and you need some extra time to go through and take in the historical collections they have on display. The Native American pieces are very interesting and they have items on display that belonged to Cochise, etc. They have a beautiful gift shop too and I will return one day with my wife as this was a very pleasurable experience and with great hosts!
  • Wonderful privately funded museum on herpavores. Live snakes, lizards and turtles. Amazing gift shop.
  • Interesting place. Enjoyed the reptiles and the artifacts. Worth the trip
  • This is such a neat place, they have the greatest gifts ever. Real quality with great prices. The reptile room is way cool. When you walk thru the museum, you get a real feel for the area. It is a must see!
