  • Trail Ridge Road is a 48 mi scenic road between Estes Park (east) and Grant Park (west). There are several overlooks and trails along the way, as well as the Alpine Visitor Centre and Lake Irene. It's...  more »
  • Rocky Mountain National Park from Yellowstone visited first Grand Teton, glacier, Canadian Rockies, etc. every year, this Rocky Mountain was the last. Staff did not expect so much of the Trail Ridge Road was extraordinary. In a succession of magnificent scenery and wildlife attractions heights said that though excited too become a sickness. It is recommended to have disadvantaged the weather is only one day, 2 nights or more and enjoy. Also, during the summer months Let's Act road observatory very early in the morning anyway, so get busy.

  • If traveling through Estes Park or nearby, and taking a tour through Rocky Mountain National Park isnsqeezable into your schedule, this is a scenic and diverse drive that shows most of what RMNP represents. In the summer expect herds of elk in lush, wildflower painted valleys, and roaring rivers and streams. As you ascend, encounter snowbanks and 360 summit views. If travelling in the spring, an unexpected, sometimes turbulent rainstorm wouldn't be unlikely, but they're usually quick to pass. Highly recommend to drive at least once.
  • A drive on Trail Ridge Road is a highlight when visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. If you are not a hiker, it is the best way to see some spectacular scenery without having to hoof it. There are some trailheads off the road if you want to get out and stretch your legs.
  • One of the best drives (or rides if you are a cyclist) in the country. Saw a herd of elk and countless marmot. If you do any hiking above treeline don't forget to stay on designated trails to keep from damaging the delicate Alpine tundra. Bring a jacket and a camera!
  • Spectacular. Air is crazy thin up here. Take your time and get out of the car to take photos and go for walks. Worth a day.
  • Beautiful drive, the changing scenery on the drive up, as well as the summit, were worth the time it takes to get up there! Call ahead to make sure Trail Ridge Road is open.
