  • A beautiful place to relax, have a picnic, or a big gathering. The Lake offers fishing and boating opportunities. The Go Ape business offers zip lines and climbing activities. Many picnic tables and shelters. Great Archery range. Many trails and paths to jog or walk. Ample parking. Many playgrounds for the kids and a nice volleyball court.
  • Excellent biking/running trail that connects easily to the broader network around DC. Just keep checking directions because it is easy to get in a side trail or get turned around. For a great bike ride, do the DC line up to Lake Needwood. Be on the lookout though, there are places where the trail gets flodded easily, so there could be deep puddles and mud.
  • Came here with my boyfriend two days ago. We were hoping for some nice hiking trails and opportunities for photography, but the park is so commercialized that it's impossible. There are people everywhere, and it's impossible to go there and just enjoy nature. If you're looking for some good hikes and pretty views, just go to Patapsco State Park instead.
  • A favorite place to hike around the lake. It's beautiful, and usually quiet. You can take advantage of the boat rentals if you like, and they have zip-lining activities, etc.
  • Great park for a relaxing day on the lake, or light hiking. You can take the bike trail all the way to DC if you're adventurous!
