  • Love Rock Creek Park. If I knew it was so close, I would have been coming years ago. It's a nice walk through the trails next to the calm lake but do not go into the water!! Can't wait to try out the paddle boats.
  • A fantastic place for hiking and picnicking. Nice woods and good facilities. All ages will have fun.
  • This is a fun place to come out to and bring the family. Plenty of open space, picnic tables, ans surprisingly clean bathrooms. There are also other activities to consider too since there are zip lines/ropes course and an archery range. Those are reviewed under their name on the map.
  • A long north-south park that extends from DC into Maryland, this provides different experiences depending on the latitude in which you are entering. Regardless of the portion you find yourself in, it is generally a nice respite from the city, though typically with high foot-traffic.
  • Very nice recreation area with a lake that you can go boating on and great picnic area. You can also hike around the lake. There is also some outdoor activities, ziplines, rope climbing etc., that is good for outdoor adventure. It also connect to Rock Creek Trail that you bike to DC (it is crowded on weekend).
