Spent one night at this beautiful county park. Will be back in January to watch eagles feast on fish.
4 stars - Well this is a great little park! Went out just for the day w/family for a drive and bbq! It was fun, weather was nice, park was huge! Trails were great, they have a new area available and i... read more »
My church had a large family style camp out here. There are two playgrounds, river access a couple different places and a river trail walk/hike on the west end of the park. Bathrooms are clean with pa... read more »
Nice campground. The area is quite open, so you can see other campers clearly. The 'scenic river' is a glacial melt river not too far away. Full facilities including dumping, however the showers are not free and require quarters, which is a shame for a campsite that is already $40 a night. Nevertheless, great area and a pleasant stay.
A really nice campground for a few nights, situated on the banks of the Skagit river. With coin operated showers, clean bathrooms, and campground-wide wifi. We also appreciated the great children's playground and private tent area.
we booked a spot at steel head park and were ok with it when we arrived it was very clean. what we didn't like is that no longer than five minutes after setting up our site a guy came buy on a golf cart and said we need to put the dog on a leash at all times and we have to be quite after 10:00. well that just blew it for our group. We just got out of the city to get away from rules and regulations and enjoy the out doors, fat chance that was going to happen here. we asked for our money back for one night of the two nights we booked, we paid for one of the nights as we arrived so just to say after 5 to 15 minutes of being there they would not give our money back. Another thing we were unhappy about is that the sites are so close to each other that if you spit the wrong way you would probably hit someone in a site next to you. Well we left without our money and went down the road to Cascade wagon road campground and pulled into a spot right on the river (No sites like this one at Steelhead Park) so there is no water or electric here at cascade wagon road camp grounds, it is a more primitive style of camping (that is what it is all about to us). Dont worry about rules here just respect the other campers. there is a nice beach on the river just under the bridge and we were up till 1:00am having a great time with no problems. The owner Bob will come around and collect $10.00 for each night for regular spots and or $20.00 a night for group spots that can support at least 10 to 15 people. The bottom line is if you want to sit in your RV, hear every word your neighbors are saying, keep your dog locked up and sit in the hot sun with very little tree coverage, Steelhead park will be great for you. If you are looking for a real camping experience something you and your kids will remember for a life time go primitive and have fun at Cascade wagon road campground.
Clean, in a nice location. Code locked bathrooms. Nice river right next to the tents.
Peaceful, and well maintained
