Farnsworth Art Museum exhibits American art works, particularly works with a focus on the state of Maine. The museum is well-known for its collection of works by George Bellows, William Zorach, and Andrew Wyeth. The museum also owns the Olson house, a National Historic Landmark and the subject of several paintings by Wyeth, including the famous "Christina's World." • This is a small museum in a small town and is so worth the visit. It is laid out nicely and has a lovely little gift shop. If you are an Andrew Wyeth fan, there are lots of nice prints.  more »
  • Great local art museum featuring the Wyeths. It's long been a staple for educating the local youth with class outings for a visit each year. It seems to be ever expanding and buying additional buildin...  more »
  • Such a lovely and bite-sized museum. We had foreign friends who really enjoyed the "local" flavor, both US art and Maine specifically. The current exhibit with A Wyeth drawings was a revelation. Easy,...  more »

  • It is spread out to two buildings plus the homestead. So much to see. Loved seeing the sketches in one building and then finished watercolors in the next. It's affordable and worth the visit.
  • We visited as we were in the area for a family event and had free entry due to a reciprocal art membership, other wise this place might be a little expensive for what it is. That said, it did have a decent and varied collection of art, with a focus on Maine and there is a lovely garden with a small sculpture park and a further gallery across the street out the back in a old church. Enough to entertain younger kids, but realise it isn't geared towards little children too. The museum store is also very good. Plenty of on street parking around the place as well.
  • Plenty of Wyeth art to gaze at. They have occasional free entry. We happened to be there for an October pumpkin festival that included free entry. The museum is worth a look.
  • What a wonderful and marvelous museum! When I vacation next summer in Northfield I will be sure to visit again. Also found out that Billings Farm Museum has reciprocity and so will take advantage of this. Everyone who goes to Maine needs to visit this captivating place Rabbi Panitz
  • Great museum, love the buildings and the way they use the place, especially the church. Lot of art from the Wyeth family, small permanent collection of other artists and nice exhibitions with lot of artwork by Roy Lichtenstein among other.
