  • The themed weekends are wonderful - WWII Days, Civil War reenactment, Halloween, Victorian Christmas. There is also a barn and old hotel that can be rented out for parties. We held a bridal shower and...  more »
  • Great place to visit if you like Living History. (Check out the Blacksmith's Shop) I believe that Interpreters are then on opened weekends.
  • We really enjoy the Midway Village, lots of old buildings set up like a community in the early 1900's! They also have themed weekends, WW1, WW2 days and looking forward to the Victorian Christmas! If ...  more »

  • GREATEST I went here as a child and it will Forever remain one of the best experiences of my life. If you have children i urge you to take them.
  • This place is a GEM in Rockford. It's like going back in a time machine to 1900. Many of the buildings were moved here, and all look 100% authentic! The staff that wanders the village and mans the shops are extremely knowledgeable and I learn something new every time. There's also a museum inside that has a ton of great displays and things to look at to learn more about the history of Rockford. This place is great for any age, and we've probably been there 20 times. Always top rate.
  • The annual WWI & WWII Reenactments are so fun here! Kids of all ages can learn the history of the region and culture. The actors do a great job at staying in character too!
  • best place. ever made me care about history!!!!lol
  • I went there a long time ago in middle school. Right now I'm in highschool but when I went here it was fun especially the barn was fun because when we dance with people it just made it fun because we had talk to each other and just meet new people in general.
