  • This place has a great name and great wine. Would highly recommend if you are in the area. Great prices on wine also.  more »
  • What a great name the Pompous A** Winery has. (For some reason TA won't let me write out the word, but it is in the listing title...) The name was definitely our reason for stopping in to this place. ...  more »
  • I have to say I was not sure what to expect, I mean the name is great and it does not have the usual look, with that said I have to say I actually enjoyed myself. The lady helping us was fantastic, en...  more »

  • We were initially attracted to this winery's whimsical name and presentation. However, upon entering and approaching the tasting bar, we were ignored and nobody came to us for several minutes (granted, they were busy..) When we were finally acknowledged, we saw a couple of the servers whispering and looking at us. A young woman came over and said, "We have a group coming over to this side of the bar, could you please move over to the other side of the bar and we'll be right over." So, we spent about a minute and a half picking our way over to the other side of the bar through a tightly packed area between a few tables and the bar. (Definitely not enough room to pass when the winery is busy). When we finally made our way to an open spot on the other side of the sampling bar, we were ignored again for several minutes. We left after another small group approached the bar beside us and was immediately served with a smile.
  • If nothing else.. you have to love the name.... wine was tasty too
  • Not the best wines but novel idea and wine names, good for a photo op or gifts haha.
  • The Pompous Ass tasting room is on the "wrong side" of 14, so there is no view of the lake, and just a tiny view of the valley. We got to pick five wines to taste and I selected the two dry reds and a port-style wine, and some sweet whites. The wines were good and the tasting room staff could answer some questions about the wine, but not the hard ones (What level of toast do you get in your barrels?).
  • Quirky and cute winery that reminds me of Bully Hill Winery. Love the Pretentious Port.
