  • Wonderful spot for a weekend or longer. We have been coming up for years, and the sunset is always different and lovely.
  • I love Olde Beau, the restaurant serves absolutely wonder meals. The views are spectacular and the golf is challenging. I gave it 4 stars because the cart paths are VERY dangerous. With lots of steep ...  read more »
  • Thoroughly enjoyed this course. Very difficult from the tips, especially the first time playing the course, as there are a lot of blind shots. The views are fantastic, the course is in great shape, Love the layout. Can't wait to come back and play again, knowing the course a little better. Highly recommend going, especially in October during peak fall color. You'll spend more time taking pictures and breathing in the rich mountain air than golfing.
  • My family used the clubhouse as the venue for my daughter's wedding reception in the month of December. Tommy and the staff was wonderful to work with. The place was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. We only had to decorate the tables and add a little personal touch. The food was delicious and the wait staff was spot on.

  • Many NC golf-lovers have not even heard of this mountain course in the heart of Roaring Gap near the Virginia border. This is a picturesque setting, with massive elevation changes and panoramic views across mountaintops. There are lots of hazards, including waste areas just off the fairways, water, and, most of all, the whirling, mountain winds (course is 3200 ft. above sea-level). The fairways and roughs are bluegrass (and generally in good shape), while the greens are well-kept bentgrass. The clubhouse staff is very friendly and accommodating to individual requests and weather conditions. On the downside, yardages are very poorly marked (esp. egregious for this type of layout), the tee boxes are a little beat-up, and the bunkers are poorly maintained. A little sprucing and a lot of marketing could elevate this course to the top-tier in the state. In-season rates are relatively reasonable; off-season rates are cheap. One other note: Billy Packer owns the course, and if you visit the locker room, you will see a distinct Wake Forest flair to the decor, including lockers "reserved" for famous WF golf alums, incl. Arnie and Curtis Strange. Definitely worth a trip.
