  • Great place to overlook the Roanoke area, and beautiful star, especially during the night time hours when it is lit up. Free parking, free to go, great surroundings such as paths and overlooks on the parkway as well. Love going, even if I have seen it before, it's still beautiful every time.
  • I am now 48 years old. I left Roanoke when I was 18 and have not lived there since although I visit a couple of times a year. 30 years have passed and home is still home. Having traveled many places and living in several the mountains, Smith Mountain Lake, the air, the southern charm and the Star are where my heart is.
  • A must visit when in Roanoke. The view is so spectacular and peaceful! Make sure to bring your camera. Its definitely a place to take the entire family and create lasting memories.
