Constructed in 1949, the star is the largest of its kind in the world, sitting 319 m (1,045 ft) above Roanoke. The adjacent overlook offers superb views of downtown and the valley.   • The view from the Mill Mountain Star provides a great long range of the Roanoke Valley. Be advised the experience is enhanced if the wind is not blowing at the overlook.  more »
  • Me and my husband enjoyed going and looking at the overlook. Its a nice little spot and my two little ones even enjoyed going up and seeing the big star and the fact the could see the whole town/city....  more »
  • Great view...very quiet and peaceful. You can walk around or just sit and look over the Roanoke Valley. Great place to take pictures also  more »
